Stand' In Room — Restaurant in Claremont

Been coming occasionally to this place for the past 2 years as I’m always in the area and yet again I’m incredibly disappointed with the manager and owner Paul. I don’t believe a single time I’ve come in has this man shown any respect to his workers. He is constantly talking down to them and scolding them out loud, at enough of a volume my friend could hear him through my phone. This also creates an awful atmosphere to even be standing in the coffee shop.

The service executed by the staff members (other than Paul) is always great minus having a horrible boss standing over their shoulders.

Food is subpar at best (just go to Toastface grillah if you want the only good thing worth ordering there) and their hot chocolates are mainly just milk with some chocolate powder on top. For this place to grow I think there is really only one answer…

We will never be going back after what we witnessed today whilst waiting for our 2 takeaway coffees. For the 5 minutes we could bare to be around, we listened to the senior staff member publicly berating a junior staff member. His behaviour and the way he spoke to her was completely unacceptable. We felt that uncomfortable that we ended leaving without our coffees. Lovely place for a delicious coffee but the experience I had with todays (Monday 6th May) barista lady was rude. Her attitude and throw back when I thought she was asking me a question, was rude and snappy (she said to me "I'm not talking to you! I'm talking to Jake (her colleague).
