Monstera Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Cloverdale

Not going to go back again simply because of bad customer service. I ordered 3 fried rice, 2 drinks and 1serve of skewers for $85. When I got the bill, I wanted to avoid 1.5% surcharge but not having enough cash. Therefore, I paid $75 cash & paid for the rest with card. then I noticed that I still got charged 1.5%surchage for the whole bill so I tried to clarify with the cashier. The cashier got agitated immediately and asked "so how much do you want now?!" Am I wrong to expect not to be charged extra for the amount paying by cash??? plus why so rude? I was super polite the whole time. It was not done - I was still in the restaurant waiting for my friend to get out for the bathroom. That lady complained loudly to other customers about me asking to do partial card and cash payment and they don't work that way. That lady said no words to me but have to time and energy to explain to their customers how wrong I was....

First time ordering from Monstera Thai Kitchen. First impressions were good, place looks clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the food wasn't what I expected. I ordered a Red Curry, Garlic and Pepper Chicken, Chicken Satay, Tom Kha Soup and a Pad Thai. First off, the Red Curry I ordered was supposed to be a Medium, but I think they put a bit too much chili in there cause it was pretty bloody hot and over powered the flavour, to the point that I was the only one in the house that would eat it. It also only had 3 or 4 small pieces of duck and pretty much not a lot of anything else, just the actual curry. The pad thai was burnt, and overpowered the flavours, plus we were given tofu instead of chicken.

The saving grace was that the Tom Kha was good, just needed more meat, the chicken satay was good and the garlic and pepper chicken was spot on. Judging by the reviews, maybe the chef just had a bad...
