New management. Just took over the Imperial Court. Came for dinner, and want to try dim sum at lunchtime soon. Venue : free carparks. Spacious. Simple decor. Have private rooms. Not a causal setting. Comfy seats. Good atomphere. Alfresco dining area. --- 7.6/10 Service: Nice staff. Not busy on Sunday night. Not attentive enough. Food served fast. We ordered 9 dishes, I think it'd be better if they could change new bowls for us once in the middle. That avoids too much sauces and gravy mixed together. Dishes served fast. We asked for a spoon/rice spatula when the bucket of steamed rice was served. All of us felt uncomfortable and hesitated using the rice spatula when they just put it down on the dirty table. We used 1 spare spoon instead. I think that they need time to adjust and run smoothly as they just run the restaurant in March. --- 7.2/10 F&B: mainly Cantonese cuisine. Normal food presentation. Normal portion. The dishes didn't make me thirsty. Prices are on the high side but acceptable. Card payment surcharge 1.5 %. Minimum charge: $30pp Steamed Rice, $2.8pp Chinese Tea, $2.8pp

  1. Fried King Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk (without Shell)黃金炸蝦球, $43.8: about 10 King prawns. Well cooked. --- 8.5/10
  2. Stir-fried Fresh Milk with & dried scallops瑤柱海鮮炒鮮奶, $39.8: sprinkled fried-conpoy on the top. The bed of deep-fried rice Vermicelli made it look abundant and richer the texture. I prefer more seafood dices and Stir-fried milk. Good culinary techniques --- 7.7/10

  4. Steamed Chicken pieces with Fugus in Lotus Leaf,荷葉雲耳蒸雞,$33.8: unfortunately, the ingredients were not matched with the name of this dishes on menu. There were small bites sized chicken pieces (bone on), small Shiitake mushrooms (cut half-cut), Chinese Pork Sausage Lap Chong slices, spring onions. NO black fugus/ cloud ear mushrooms that I expected. Good portion of chicken. All of the ingredients are the traditional Cantonese Steamed Chicken dishes that are wrapped by Lotus leaf. Though the chicken wasn't overcooked. --- 7/10 (wrong name/ ingredients ?)

We used to go to the Imperial Court often because of its location. My husband and I were only there 3 days ago with 6 other adults & 6 kids, I went back again today with 2 girlfriends and our babies for lunch, BUT this will be our last visit! I CAN NOT believe how rude that boss lady is! She came over to our table, got right close to my 11 months old baby girl’s face with a scary look, raised her finger and said “SHUSH! BE QUIET!”, then walked off shaking her head! Me and my friends were all shocked by her action, we could not believe how SCARY and ANGRY she looked and that she told my baby girl off when there are other new babies in the restaurant making as much noises as she does?!!!! She was in the highchair or in my arms the whole time, wasn’t crying or anything, she’s just being a baby! I went to question that lady why did she scare my daughter, she said because apparently people made complaints, and if my daughter is making noises I should take her outside! My daughter is not crying or throwing tantrums why would I take her out of the restaurant? And if she has problems with us she should be talking to me! Not to scare my 11 months old baby!! I would be happy to apologize to other customers if my daughter was being too noisy and we would have left early, too. As a matter of fact, other mum and grandmas actually came up to say hello to us when we were in the restaurant, no one mentioned anything about the noises because there are babies everywhere! If babies are not allowed or if they are not a family friendly restaurant, they should let parents know! It is disgusting how they think they can scare (attack) a baby like that and get away with it!

Before the boss lady scared my daughter, she actually took my bag off the back of my seat, walked away to direct some other customers with my bag in her hands, then came back and put it on the other side of the table, without asking me!! It’s a small bag with my daughter’s sippy cup, some wet wipes, my mobile and keys in it. I was surprised and was watching her the whole time but said nothing. I don’t mind her moving it to make room for anyone or whatever, but she should have asked me before she touched/moved my bag! I was sitting on my seat, right in front of my bag! She has no respect towards others! Even if it is her restaurant, she shouldn’t be treating people like that.

More surprisingly, when we were paying the boss lady at the counter, she told me not to go back if I don’t like how she treated my daughter. Absolutely disgusted!

After talking to other mums in a mum’s group I learnt that she is infamous for being rude to customers and her staff! Well, there are plenty of restaurants in Perth, we won’t put up with this kind of service! We will not be revisiting! You have lost our respects for you as a business owner, as well as a person! You DO NOT...

We moved to Como - Perth about two years ago and hence myself and my wife went together to this restaurant at least five times and our bill was close to $100 every time (without any drinks). Until now we thought the service and food were reasonably good even if expensive, however we were happy to pay for the "quality", as well as being located five minutes walk from our house. We noticed over time that the owner and personnel seem to be much more attentive and friendlier towards some of their Chinese customers, even after us going there few times, but we thought that this may be due to them knowing them better, and we were happy with what we got. However today was just plain humiliation and it is unlikely we will ever go back: upon arrival we were given a nice table for two near the window , however shortly after being seated one of the waitresses came and said that the table was reserved (by whom ? certainly no sign when we arrived, and actually the same waitress indicated the table for us) and then we were taken to the most remote and darkest corner of the restaurant , near the toilet - despite the restaurant being half empty and with plenty of better tables. You would think that if you have to move for no fault of your own , you will be given at least the same nice kind of table. It was just plain humiliation for absolutely no fault of ours - we are a very decent, quiet and respectful middle age couple and actually always liked this restaurant's personnel and considered ourselves at home - until now. Of course there are plenty of better restaurants in Como/South Perth and Perth in general and the City is 5 minutes drive away, so certainly not our loss. Looking back, I just have the lingering feeling that if they could, they would just stop anybody outside their preferred old Chinese families circle coming in - so be aware that you risk bad treatment at any time (and based on some of the reviews on the internet we are not the only ones...

Perhaps the best Chinese ( Southern Chinese or Cantonese restaurant) restaurant in Western Australia 🇦🇺 I am from Melbourne and couldn't find the authentic Cantonese restaurant in Perth until I found and dined in Como Garden in Perth. The food is for sure one of the best original and authentic Cantonese restaurant in Australia 🇦🇺 ( I do strongly believe it is top 3 for sure in Australia in terms of like for like matching in entire Australia which includes East Coast of Australia where I'm originally from and I've tried and enjoyed many other Chinese restaurants and dishes over last 18 years and this restaurant Como Garden is a absolute stand out in Perth ). Highly recommended to everyone and food price are reasonable and staff members are very welcoming and friendly especially the two managers Poey and Fenni make me ( us ) as if I am a family member and friend and treated us like kings 🤴 and queens 👸 🤩 with their welcoming with wonderful hospitality and genuine authenticity ❤️😍🥰 I would go back again next time with friends and for future office 🏬 party 🥳 etc.

Both mine and my aunt' family use to be their regular customer. Since the boss lady told my aunt to go away because they have a very busy night(that's right, appearently they love new customers more then regulars - Very unusual business perferences), my aunt never went back again. But I love the beef meat balls as that's the most authentic dim sum dish in Perth. But today the boss lady show her worst face to her faithful regular customer. She told me she have to charge for the extra soy sauce (about 5ml) I "ordered" because they did not give enough for the rice paper roll. Then when I take another look to the bill and found they charge $2.50 for both my kids(5 & 8) for Chinese hot tea but they only receive tap water. When complaint to the owner, then she start educate me but charges stay still. So long crazy rude boss lady, Perth is not like ten years ago and now we got many good Yumcha place with excellent customer service. You can stay in you little corner and watch more and more customer go away.
