First impressions were good, funky looking cafe with lots of fresh baked treats on offer & a decent menu. But the devil is in the detail & that's where it went south......Fresh Croissants, bagels, etc are on display in open containers right where people line up to order - so unhygienic, people can touch them, talk over them or cough / sneeze on them & the containers themselves were quite dirty. The staff don't understand English very well, so ordering took quite some time & the line was huge. They didn't know what the drinks were that we got out of their fridge & were asking us how much they were, they didn't have some things that were on the menu & there was a lot of general confusion. The food came out quickly, but there were issues with a lot of it & trying to get that rectified was difficult due to the language barrier. We had to get back in the long line to ask about a coffee that never turned up, and the "Reserved" sign on the table was really dirty, not a good look. Lots of flaws, but the staff were friendly & cheerful. Not sure I'd put myself through it all...
Read moreMOLDY CHEESCAKE The coffee we ordered one cappuccino one latte but latte also came as almost cappuccino. We didn’t say anything cause maybe the barista is on training exc. It can happen sometimes. However we ordered a peppermint cheese cake and when we were almost finishing we saw that under it was full of fungus ,moldy and it was rotten… It is not acceptable this kind of irresponsibleness of the food. We ate also one tart and I hope it was not moldy as well. We don’t know. Staff were nice and kind. She is really so nice person. They made a refund for cheesecake and ask if we want anything else. I don’t know whose fault it was or how many days they stay in that fridge the desserts but just to earn a little bit extra money you can not sell fungus. It is not even starting it was really moldy. Just give to homeless people BEFORE expire day, BEFORE rotten so that avoid wasting food instead leaving it on the shelf and sell it moldy. (The staff who was working please don’t take it personal you...
Read moreThe food at Fiend is ok - perfectly acceptable cafe food as you'd expect from any place of its kind. The service is fairly average though. For some reason, the cafe refuses to use table numbers for dine in orders, so the waitstaff wander around calling your name until the can find you! When the order does arrive, it's often wrong. I was going to order a canned cold brew until I saw that the used-by date was 2024. When I told the staff, they seemed disinterested. We ordered a muffin and a couple of coffees. I was asked three times if the muffin was to be 'toasted' or cold. I indicated cold each and every time. When it arrived... you guessed it... it was HOT. not just warm. HOT like it came from the microwave! We eventually got our coffees, as well as duplicate one minutes later! Quite...
