Travelling for business we are often looking for a good place to eat. In Cooma we walked on in to Roses and was met by a delightful young lady Lottie. We were seated straight away and given time to look at the menu. At this stage the resturant owner Tony came and took our order. I'm not well versed on Mediterranean cuisine and Tony took the time and pride to tell us about all the meals, the fact that most ingredients were grown by them and how the recipes stem back generations through his family with his mother working in the kitchen which kept the authenticity of every meal. Entrees were served and my goodness it was amazing, the mixed Mezza was delicious. We followed with mains of Iraydis and Malfouf. I have never eaten this food before and it was an absolute delight. We ended the meal with another dish I've never tried, drunken soldier dessert and holy cow my mouth was alive with flavour. This led to having to try Tony's wife's sticky date pudding and again it was delicious. We topped it off with Lebanese coffee. We went in to get a quick meal but Lottie and Tony made us feel so welcome and at home, combined with beautiful atmosphere and authentic food made with love and generations old recipes we stayed for 2 hours just enjoying plate after plate. Thank you Tony for such a wonderful experience and your hospitality and Lottie for your bubbly nature, friendly smile and amazing service. I have not had a dining experience like this for...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience, been meaning to go here for a while and 1 day after work as we were heading to Woolies for a dinner shop we saw the open sign and said stuff cooking.
We were greeted by the wait staff and they were fabulous all evening. Very attentive.
The food choice was hard, I wanted to try it all but in the end we went for the beef shawarma and a lamb dish.
I have eaten in some very good restaurants around the world. This food stood up to them all.
Delicious, I could have kicked my plate, but used the complimentary pita to wipe up every last morsel Instead.
I was sorely tempted by dessert especially after I googled Drunken Soldier and found out it was Roses own special dish in honour of the ANZACs who liberated the Lebanon in WW2.
As an ex soldier I really wanted to try it, but my belt said no. So there's an excuse to get back there sharpish!!
If your in town, there's really only 1 place to eat for good, homestyle...
Read moreI’m a traveler for my job. Often life can be a bit isolating. I landed in Cooma for the first time and decided to go out for dinner. I normally eat in my motel room but seeing a Mediterranean restaurant was the highest rated in town and I love Lebanese food I decided to dine in. I ordered the Banquet and lemon ricotta cake. Roses is one of the greatest meals I’ve ever had and I shall be telling everyone who will listen. The family boasts that they use grandmothers recipes and grandad grows the herbs and veggies In fact the tabouli was growing in the garden this morning. I can’t recommend this experience enough, if you consider yourself a foodie you must come here from wherever you come from. The food is beautiful. The family is beautiful. The restaurant is beautiful. And I feel beautiful too! Thank you...
