In my experience, this has been one of the most disappointing clubs in Australia. Be extremely cautious—if you find yourself on the wrong side of the committee for any reason, even for matters unrelated to the club itself, you risk being expelled without fair process.

Financial issues appear to be looming at the club, and I felt they tried to recoup costs from members unfairly. In my case, my boat was left out of the water due to their Tammy lift being broken. Despite initially planning for just two weeks out of the water, they caused it to be out for months and later attempted to charge me $5,000 in hardstand fees.

New members should also take note: pen deposits are now non-refundable. This means if you are removed from the club or if it becomes insolvent, your money is gone.

I strongly advise anyone considering membership to think twice and thoroughly research current member experiences before joining and maybe join a club with...

RPYC is the most welcoming club. I brought 12 people for lunch from the two cruise ships that happened to be in port, the Queen Mary 2 and the ms Volendam. It was a Regatta Day and they were busy, but not too busy to have arranged a tasting of Western Australia wines for us - with tasting notes. We took those with us, so we can buy the wines again. They were delicious. It was pub grub but excellent pub grub, served with a smile in a timely fashion. With the help of the General Manager, we managed to recruit a long-time member to take us to the Bond Room and tell us about the 1983 America's Cup as well as the new advances in foiling. All agreed, it was a fantastic shore excursion.

3.5 stars Look over the Swan River. Beautiful riverview in daytime. Plenty of carparks. All about sailing. Invited to join a graduation party 6-9pm on Saturday. Venue: upstairs. Not very big ~ 14 tables. Good vibe. Service: Waitpersons were polite. Kept serving and refilling drinks. Just a little bit choatic when serving Entree. F&B: Three courses dinner. Gluten-free meal is available. Normal presentation and portion. Average Overall.

  1. Gnocchi with tomato sauce. Not bad. One guest had pasta instead.
  2. Spicy Fish Fillet with Rice: fish and rice were well-cooked. Spicy paste was on the top of the fish, which was so spicy but could be removed before eating.
  3. cake with ice cream: the cake was too sweet...

Wonderful, friendly club with a tonne of history (they won the America's cup for Australia). Great venue, love the views of the city as sun sets, awesome for parties and weddings. The food is great whether it's an event or just eating brunch in the club ward room (killer good bacon sanger) I highly recommend this as the premiere yacht club in Perth but also surprisingly affordable e.g kids' dinghy memberships cheap. Also you don't have to be a member to do courses either adults or kids especially kids' dinghy sailing week long courses in school hols or learn to windsurf.
