What terrible food! We are Indians and we know what we are ordering. We are visiting from Melbourne today and we are used to amazing indian food. The goat curry we ordered was terrible, tasted of some chemical. The daal was bland and full of red chillies powder. The chicken naan was tasteless and had no salt. The malai kofta was just sweet with no flavours. Overall their best part was the green chutney. Most of their food we ordered went to the bin where it belonged. If the owner is indian, should be ashamed of themselves. What a waste of money and time. AVOID IF YOU CAN. I miss Melbourne!

What a rude and unprofessional reply from the owner! I think he took it personally. I have to state few things: It was customer feedback, irrespective of nationality. Start taking critics from customers in a positive manner rather than getting personal. We always support local businesses including Indian. The lady you are referring to is my wife and she ordered the food on behalf of our family at 5, picked up at 6 and we ate late and provided our feed back immediately. Additionally, providing feedback is never timebound. I think you assumed that we have never tried goat curry, or daal or malai kofta before, we know what good curries taste like. Itās neither our first trip to Tassie nor our first order of Indian food. We never knew that you cook chicken naan without salt, otherwise we would have asked for additional salt. If you think, we are doing this for a refund, ALL THE CURRIES ARE STILL LYING IN THE BIN, FEEL FREE TO COME AND COLLECT IT or I AM HAPPY TO DROP IT OFF AT YOUR RESTAURANT. There were few more glitches in your order which I did not even mention here, like a. Chicken naan was packed with veg garlic naan which is a big no no as my wife is pure vegetarian b. You forgot to pack butter naan and while collecting my wife checked and you agreed that you missed it and then gave it to her. c. You denied providing a receipt, which is against the law by the way! I think you should be the MOST ASHAMED person here bringing India into picture. If we were not tourist here, we would have cooked ourself, but anyhow thanks for your suggestion and accepting the fact that IT WAS INDEED A WASTE OF OUR TIME YESTEDAY. We love Tasmania as well and a regular tourist here. Finally, I would like to move on and suggest you should...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian curry Devenport and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of my meal was the Kadhai Paneer, which was nothing short of amazing. The paneer was incredibly fresh, and the blend of spices in the kadhai gravy was perfectly balanced, making each bite a flavorful delight. Itās one of the best Kadhai Paneers Iāve ever had! And also try the pistachio kulfi. The service was equally impressive. The owner Mr Kulsher Singh and his wife were very attentive, friendly, and ensured that every aspect of my dining experience was enjoyable. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of, which added a special touch to the evening. Overall, it is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine. With its delicious food and top-notch service, itās a place Iāll definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere were mix reviews about the place still I decided to give it a try. As I drove from Bicheno and reached the town by 9pm, pretty much verything was closed except for the fast food chains.
I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Garlic Naan, and Naan. To my surprise, I had to buy rice separately but that was on me because in US, we get complimentary rice. Anyway, I lliked the curry and lamb was properly cooked. All in all, the food that I tried was good but cannot speak for other dishes by other customers. I am a traeveller and have been to 16 different countris (excluding US and India where I live) and my review is 100% honest and transparent.
The place was good and I have attached some pictures for others to see. Got a chance to speak with the owner and he communicated well with me and shared a few tips about Australia...
