Gluten Free Bakery Cafe | Canberra Belconnen — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

I have given the gluten-free cafe food two tries both times, I have been very disappointed.

The first time I purchased dounts from the freezer. Unfortunately they were stale and had to be thrown out. The packaging which was a cardboard box would be part of this problem. Other issue is that the box of donuts cost $28 for frozen donuts. I purchased two boxes and both had to be thrown in the bin after trying them.

The second time I purchased a takeaway toasted sandwich and coffee for $13.90. I was so disappointed with the toasted sandwich. I purchased the vegetarian auction it had Only a quarter of the filling I would expect on any toasted sandwich. The sandwich was so poorly put together that it fell apart and half of it fell on the ground. There was no effort made to create a toasted sandwich that would stick together as it should with cheese. After all I did purchase a vegetarian toasted sandwich, not a vegan one 🤷 This turned out to be a huge waste of money, especially with half of it ending up on the ground.

Drove 40 minutes just to finally be able to have some gluten free take away to enjoy with my family as we are camping on holiday. Total waist of time. Customer service was completely rude! Refused a take away order. I didn’t want to dine in my family were waiting who wanted other take away options. Don’t waist your time on this establishment.

Response to owner reply below- I waited at counter for some time before being served. I had the time to read the menu and I specifically asked could I order to take away. I was told no sorry 😞 I stood there a moment as I was shocked by this. The lady went to serve next customer so communication was ended by your establishment not myself. I took a 'gluten-free' friend to this place and for the whole hour we were there, they couldn't stop smiling at the fact they could order ANYTHING and know they'd be fine without having to search the menu for just a very few options. We had a hot meal, which was pretty good for both of us. Coffee very nice, too.

However, the experience was spoiled by the noise of the drink blender being used at the front kitchen bench.

Also, the cafe was overly hot and humid, and we were told the aircon system was broken.
