Cafe2617 — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

Had lunch at Cafe 2617, and whilst I had seen it all the time whilst on the bus I had never been inside til some friends suggested it. The menu was quite large and definitely had an array of items for a fair price. I decided to get the schnitzel Benedict as I love to get eggs Benedict from cafes. I'd never seen such a twist of using schnitzel before and I've been to a lot of cafes! Got my meal and it looked amazing and I was definitely very keen on getting into it. It tasted amazing, having avocado in an eggs Benedict was a super smart idea and definitely gave it a better taste than original ones. I had my lunch with a glass of iced pomegranate which was something I hadn't had before and was very refreshing! I definitely recommend people giving it a go if you haven't previously, it's a hidden gem on the menu. Following my great meal, I had a cronut with my partner and it tasted really good. I'm a fan of donuts but had never tried a cronut before and it was amazing. The variety of food and drinks really gives you the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone. What a great little cafe we stumbled across this morning. We came in and the place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. We ordered some breakfast of fried eggs with bacon and eggs benedict with smoked salmon. We also got a hot chocolate a latte and two cold drinks. The customer service was really great. Something you don't see in a lot of places these day....ie friendly staff. There wasn't loud music playing either like some places, you could actually talk to each other. Egg dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. Sunny side up eggs had a nice runny yolk and bacon were delicious and there was a nice tomato relish on the plate that complimented the dish. Eggs benny had a nice hollandaise. Not too much on the plate, just enough to enjoy. The latte was not bitter and burnt like so many places do, it was delicious and smooth. The hot chocolate was apparently one of the best she's enjoyed. Highly recommend this...

We have been here today for breakfast. We are not familiar to Canberra so we just search online around to have breakfast. This shop came up with 4.2 point so we decided to give it a try. However, we regret it. I dont know how people rate it as 4.2, i guess they dont have any taste of food or coffee. Sorry but the worst coffee i have ever had in Australia. It tastes like carton. Breakfast was okay but there is no sense to fry spinach. It is tasteless and too unhealthy. The food was so oily. We were super hungry so we ate them but got sick anyway. You should train the kitchen stuff and the barista more. What we realise that they dont clean the filter after every coffee. Anyway the service was friendly.
