The Reject Shop — Local services in District of Belconnen

My friend and I were served by Naomi at Lane 3 at the Belconnen Reject Shop on 19/09/25 at 6:56pm (yes I saved the receipt). My friend is Indian, and meanwhile I am not a person of colour. My friend experienced extremely rude and racist customer service by Naomi. Naomi didn’t greet her at all, and when my friend asked her to wrap a ceramic bowl with paper to prevent breakage, Naomi refused.

I was served next, also with breakable products, and experienced a completely different interaction, and turns out Naomi WAS capable of wrapping breakable products with paper, and acknowledging me with a greeting and smile. My friend was not rude in any way whatsoever, and behaved kindly towards her during the entire interaction - she was made to feel uncomfortable and discriminated against.

This behaviour is unacceptable and unjustifiable, and such a person should not be working in any customer service role if they cannot be civil and respectful to EVERY customer regardless of nationality/where...

Love this place.. but there is literally no prices on half the stuff instore!! Gondola ends have products but no prices... like come on reject shop.. what do u pay ur staff for??

Great shop to find all sorts of different things and some good cheap food items,like teabags for example.Good convenient location and friendly staff.It would be awesome if they stocked some non-dairy chocolate; nearly every time one is at the checkout one is asked about buying cheap chocolate bars,well I am a chocophile but none of it is what I can/will consume.Fantastic bed linen and other home wares here,definitely...
