I want to be fully honest and I want to be clear that I wanted to like this place. We were seated and that's probably the only thing that went well. They've only been open since the 14th of Jan.
Things that was good: The presentation of the restaurant is very pretty, very modern. The cuts and offerings looked really nice.
Things that weren't so good: We weren't really given menus as we sat down. The wait staff felt confused as things were missing from our table. e.g. we got a jug of soju cocktail, but didn't get glasses at the same time. Our meat arrived before our charcoal and we ended up having to request for certain things. The dumplings felt a bit skint and the flavour wasn't very strong. The general feeling of uncoordinateness with different wait staff felt very strange.
It feels very new and there's probably some bedding in time for the staff and management to feel comfortable about the flow of operations to get stuff out to diners.
I'm hoping that the restaurant managers read this because in all honesty there's a lot of potential here. I think the sauce needs to be stronger, if you serve a little bit of salt next to the sauce that'll be pretty good. I think there might be some tweaking with prices. I felt that what we paid for wasn't reflective of the service that was provided. Places like KorBQ are quite expensive, but the service feels top notch. JoA can improve...
Read moreVisited on Friday 13 May 2022. Interior was very new and clean. 5 star Similar level of service to visiting a fast food chain. Not rude but not friendly either. 3 star Charged me $36 but the written menu shows as $34. No explanation was given. no star Got a half (original) and half (volcano) Fried Chicken. Compare to other Korean Fried Chicken places in Canberra it is small serving size and not very crunch and Volcano is the description of the colour , I think. They didn't give me the pickled radish!! Very unusual. Maybe it is westernised Korean food. 2 star Considering the location and experience, I would not revisit again to try other food. Regarding the price, again it would have been good if that was explained to me at that time. As you pointed out that you are BBQ place so is it acceptable to sell so so fried chicken? Rather than try to understand why the customer felt that way, the owner's response is that sorry that we were not friendly but we were busy and because we are BBQ place we dont give pickled radish for fried...
Read moreI did not realise there was a Kbbq so close to home. Nice place tucked behind a covered porch. Just remember it is opposite end of the Chinese restaurant. Parking across the street.
You order off the menu, similar to Chez Kimchi. Ingrédients were fresh and succulents. I love my ox tongue of course and wagyu cuts. Kimchi pancake was delish. My son tried corn cheese for the first time and his face was a delight to watch because I know how beautifully the melted cheese sets off the sweet corn. 😋 Sauces were good, plenty to help yourself from the salad bar set to one side of restaurant.
Oh NO WASTAGE ALLOWED. So beware
Service was excellent. One man served, cleared, cleaned by himself the day we were there. Impressed. Took a while but he did what he could. Thank...
