I used to love this place. Food is good and affordable. I have been there couple of times and have tried their lunch banquet, chili paneer, gobi manchurian, dal makhni, palak paneer, mushroom 65, and many more. Just this evening, I went there because I was craving for Gobi and Paneer. I ordered Gobi Manchurian and Paneer Tikka. The Gobi Manchurian came out first and it was totally different from the previous one that I ordered (I have pictures of both dishes). But I still ate it because the taste wasn't bad. It was just really different from what I expected. Then the paneer dish came. To my surprise, it was just paneer pieces sautéed with some capsicums and onions in a bowl. I knew that this wasn't Paneer Tikka. Because even though I am not Indian, I used to work at an Indian Restaurant for almost 3 years. So I informed the waiter that that wasn't the one I ordered. She firmly replied and pointed out in the menu that it was chili paneer (trying to make it look like I ordered that or making it sound like it's the same since it's still paneer). But I insisted because I knew what I ordered. Then she finally said that the Paneer Tikka is not available. Then I just continued eating the other dish I ordered. After some time, the waiter approached me again to apologise and offer me other paneer dishes in the menu. I told her that she should have told me first that my order wasn't available before giving me another dish as a replacement. Then she tried to explain that she chose the Chili Paneer since it's close to what I ordered. So I explained to her the big difference of the two dishes... I'm really disappointed by what that waiter did. It seemed that she tried to cheat on me, thinking that I will not know what Indian food is because I am not Indian. The staff were also talking behind my back about my order. They were assuming that I can't pick up some Hindi words...
Read morePathetic experience, they don't tell you before entering restaurant that they don't have staff or they will take 50 minutes to 1 hour to serve food so in another sense its kind of cheating. We were with kids and very hungry and they didn't told us and hide this that they have staff shortage, we had to wait approx 50-55 minutes for food to arrive and everytime the only single lady who was managing everything alone there kept on saying 5 more minutes, they even didn't gave spoon and we ourselves had to go and get the spoon from their counter table near kitchen area what could be worse for a restaurant than this? The tables for previous customer were also not cleaned and all the tables with leftover food and dirty dishes/utensils were lying everywhere on all tables. Also, the instructions given were not followed for food. Food was also just ok . You should tell honestly your customers if there is anything wrong because you are charging full amount so why we have to bear the cost of your mistakes or...

I attended Punjab Junction on Friday last week dor dinner. The dinner was very tasty. When we finished the dinner, I thanked the lady at the counter that the food was very good and for not making us wait. When we got back to Sydney in night time, I realised that I left my purse at the restaurant. Late night, I called the restaurant straight away and the staff was so kind and honest to advise me that I left my purse. They are so kind to drive and drop my purse next morning to my family member without complaining. They were very pleasant and kind to help me at that time. I will always remember their kindness. We will always visit Punjabi Junction every time we visit Canberra and I will recommend to all our friends to visit...
