Belconnen lake front and a special park that is dedicated to the founding senate John knight who first served in the newly formed ACT government.
An amazing place that have an abundant picnic and bbq seating and grills for many wonderful parties and celebrations. Older kids can roam free through the park for orientating, adventure slides and wet there feet in a man make creek. Younger ones can enough an upgraded playrooms with the latest playground equipment or feed/watch the ducks on the lake shore.
If you get up early enough on Saturday morning you can join in for the park run for both able and guided accessible running events or just walk amongst the locals taking in the fresh air and their dogs on leash.
The place is magical overlooking the man made lake that is clean and often used by canoeing enthusiasts on a nice warm days.
Plenty of benches too for those that wish to ponder with love ones or just alone to leave the world a little and focus with nature before you head back into the world.
Plenty of parking, connected cycleway and walking paths for you to come, play...
Read moreEdited on 22/01/2020: Now that I have a 14-month old toddler, I would like to take back what I said about the park being good for every age. I still love the parks and the little nooks of the park. However, I realized that the play areas are more suited to ages 2 or 3 and above. There are no swings or slides which are suitable for little toddlers. They have two major play areas (one with a red tower near the outdoor gym, and a blue and yellow themed shaded area near water features). I wish they could put at least a swing or a low slide for tiny tots. While my bub was not impressed by the outdoor play area, she did enjoy watching the ducks and seagulls though. :)
Nice park with spaces for every age. There's an outdoor gym, basketball courts, wide space good for frisbee, zip line for kids, bbq, water features, etc. Park looks good...
Read moreThis is an excellent park. There is a lot to do here and plenty of spaces to enjoy. There are two Basketball courts. A small area with some exercise activities. Playgrounds for the kids, near toilet facilities. A beautiful flowing waterfall that starts at one end of the park. The water moves through ponds of creative art and passes under bridges. It stretches across the park and eventually empties down into the lake. There is a small island on the lake that is connected by an arched bridge. It provides a great spot to view birds and other animals. There are BBQ spots available right beside the water edge. The park also features a disc golf course used by the ACT Disc Golf Club. With plenty of shade and some beautiful scenery, I would definitely recommend...
