Badger & Co — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

Our daughter graduated from ANU this week, and after years of hearing her stories about the fun times at Badger, we figured it was only right to experience it for ourselves—purely for research purposes, of course!

Straight after the ceremony, we headed in for a celebratory drink and some nibbles. I can absolutely see why university students love this place—great atmosphere, fun decor, and the kind of energy that perfectly matches student life (and their new-found freedoms!).

As for us “old parents,” the staff were incredibly accommodating, graciously humoring our slightly bewildered attempts to keep up. They handled all our silly requests with a smile, making sure we were well looked after.

If you’re a student, a graduate, or just a parent trying to relive your youth for an hour or two, Badger is definitely worth a visit. Here’s hoping future ANU students (and their parents) enjoy it as...

Serious food safety issue! Disgusting food and terrible staff

Had lunch with colleagues today. Chicken seemed to have gone off with disgusting taste and green leave salad was stale. Also, wrong source was served. I approached kitchen staff asking for a serve of the correct source, and they said they never had my order. I said I just picked up my order, but one impatient guy yelled at me, asking me to talk to the bar folk (he was fine). I didn’t bother and would never come back again. There were a number of tables with food left almost intact, apart from ours.

Best pub on campus with incredible ambience.

I’ve gotten coffee here multiple times and was never disappointed.

In terms of food, I was definitely dissatisfied with the quality because we ordered a pizza that looked like it came right out of the freezer and was incredibly dry.

The sweet potato fries were somewhat better, even though they were quite dry too.

Nevertheless, as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, this is still a great spot for a catchup or a simple coffee chat in my opinion because it has superb interiors and occasionally hosts themed nights too - like trivia and...
