Yori Canberra Poke — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

I’m updating my review because I’ve come here a lot since I first wrote it. Yori is my favourite place to eat in Canberra. Every single person I’ve introduced to this place has ended up becoming a regular. The staff (particularly the two owners) are fantastic and friendly, and you can tell they put in a lot of time and effort into their food. The presentation of the food is superb. Unlike what you might expect from a fast food place, the photos that they have on their website menu are not edited at all, their dishes actually look that good, and the taste matches. I’ve seen a couple people here complaining about prices, which I suppose makes sense if you imagine it like a ‘takeout’ place, but even though they may not be a sit-down restaurant, their food is of restaurant quality so I have no qualms with paying a small premium compared to something truly quick and cheap. Yori Fusion has been my go to since they opened on campus at ANU. I usually switch between the chicken karaage bowl and the popcorn chicken bowl. I find that the chicken karaage pieces have a really yummy, unique flavour compared to other karaages I've had before. Not sure if it's the sauce or something in the batter but either way I really enjoy it. The popcorn chicken bowl is always my go to when I feel like chicken katsu instead of karaage.

I've recommended these bowls to multiple of my friends who have since also become regulars. They're definitely a favourite amongst my friend group.

I've gone to the Nosh in Canberra centre and had a bad experience but I thought I'll give Nosh a second chance and try the ANU campus one since I love poke bowls. All was good until the girl, preparing the food, stepped on the food preparation counter with her dirty shoes and didn't even bother cleaning up before preparing more food on the dirty counter.
