i unfortunately twisted my ankle last night, today i took an uber went to this place which has really cute latte art.but when i come to there ,the sign is not clearly and i spent nearly 20min to find it.when i come into the cafe shop at 2:32 the staff said with Cold face said:"we are closed."i replied politely:"i come from melbourne,i want a takeaway coffee, actually i have been around here 20 minutes for looking for your store cause my injuries leg." she with no changing tone replied me,"our machine closed.""but google shows your shop will close at three."she pointed at the window really indifferent "it's on the door, sorry." without empathy, without smiling.i go outside and there are two tiny lines that the closed time is 230. i can accept its a shame for my trip ,i can't order one cup of coffee.but i really disappointed for the service here.maybe they have the good latte artist but they have the worst service.this is the place i never back.will definitely tell this story to all my friends, zero recommend

Stumbled here as i was new to town and was recommended this place by locals. Was welcomed by a wonderful couple and can already tell this place is adored by locals. The lady at the counter seems to remember everyone's names, the decor of the place was simple and cosy. Ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Burger and a latte, which came with a bear on it. Burger was nice and crispy, with a nice spicy kick. Overall, will come again and try their NYC style sandwiches. Really nice place for lunch and coffee break.

We were recommended this cafe by a friend after staying in Canberra a few days with disappointing breakfast and coffee options. The service when we walked in was inviting and the coffee (and art) was great! Food was also generous and delicious for the price. We had the brekkie wrap (tomato and spinach very fresh) and banana bread.

Finally got round to trying out this cafe and I can see why this cafe has received so many great reviews. At the same time, I can’t understand what the people who have written negative reviews are going on about.

The couple running this place are so down to earth; the food was great, well priced with generous servings (and I can pack it in); coffee was fantastic (and it wasn’t fantastic just because it has coffee art); and the ambience was lovely, relaxing but still had a sense of energy. As I sat there eating my breakfast, at no time did I see any evidence of curt or rude service and I would highly recommend stopping by Blue Olive Cafe for a coffee and/or meal.

Perhaps if you’re a complete tight arse or the type of person who likes to gripe about first world problems or indeed like to gripe in general, give this place a miss, they don’t deserve your negativity. Interesting that quite a few of the negative reviews even feel the need to mention “the Asian lady”, which I think says something about...

This has been a Friday breakfast tradition for a long time. The bacon and egg rolls are the best in Canberra! We often visit with a 10 person team and are never left hungry for too long. One of the only places on the west side of the city you can actually get a LARGE coffee. None of this hipster sized coffee cups.

If your after a good, solid breakfast this is the place. I have moved to Sydney and cannot find a bacon and egg roll that comes close to the Blue Olive!

Oh by the way, the owners and staff are amazing. One of the only places I've been to where they actually remember you by name! As Molly would say, "do yourself a favour" and visit...
