Lovely food and nice atmosphere, but disappointing service at the end.

We really enjoyed our meal—the food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. However, the experience was let down after our Mains, when we tried to order dessert at 8:50pm. One staff member told us the kitchen was closed, without asking if we’d like dessert or giving any advance notice that last orders were approaching.

She also said we should have known the kitchen closing time because we booked through EatClub—which felt a bit dismissive and it’s shouldn’t had been mentioned. When we checked the app, it clearly showed the restaurant closes at 9:00pm, so we ordered dessert with a different staff member, thinking we were still within time and she said Yes we are still on time to have our sticky...

I was pleasantly surprised. I have lived in Canberra for many years. It was a bit of the tentative decision and was a little concerned about the place after reading a couple of reviews. Although the hotel and restaurant is old they have renovated the indoors and have beautiful blue carpets and comfortable seating. There is ample room to sit and they must cater for tour groups so not exactly a place for romantic dinner. But great place to hang out with friends or family. Food was delicious and healthy. Being on wellness journey I ordered Zuccini noodle and wasn't disappointed with the taste and mango pudding with real fruit was yum withoout being too sweet. My friend wasn't disappoined with her Srilankan chicken and rice. It was also very reasonably...

If you'd love to experience getting robbed without getting hurt this is the place for you. What a joke. You wait nearly an hour for food. And thats not your food its actually an hour wait just to see any food coming out of the kitchen. And after taking that long you think theyd cook it well. Wrong again. $54 for a steak to be served cold. The only thing that didnt suck is the chips. Avoid this place at all costs. Bar waitress has no work to do but will still ignore you when waiting for a table and again when waiting to pay. At least shes consistent. Even with a 40% discount this place was a rip off. Can see why barely...

We had a two course meal at the Diplomat. The restaurant sits awkwardly in the centre of the hotel with a view of open walkways and hotel room doors. The service was amazing however the food was lacking. I had a pumpkin ravioli but I didn't taste any pumpkin as it was overpowered by another salty taste almost bitter. I also had beef cheeks which were falling apart however the flavour wasn't really apparent. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed by the food. Bar service was great!!

Dined last night at the Ramada Inn Canberra. The 2 course set menu included pairing wines. We added on a dessert .Each course was beautifully presented.Entree was a delicious chilli garlicky prawns, with sourdough toast. Our slow cooked Beef Cheeks, with truffle mash, heirloom carrots outstanding! Followed by the best sticky date pudding.I'm a hard food "task master.Chef and crew, you rocked!11 out of 10 stars .Thank you.
