Espresso Room — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

I’ve been a long-term customer of this place—since it first opened, for as long as I can remember. I usually buy coffee and lunch here every day, sometimes even twice a day. I know most of the staff, and they know that I always speak highly of this place to others.

Today was truly disappointing. I came in for a late lunch around 2:30 PM, and most of the food was already gone, so I didn’t end up buying anything. I sat down for less than five minutes to quickly eat the lunch I brought before heading back to work. The place wasn’t crowded at all, and there were plenty of available seats.

Yet, a staff member ( the girl ) came over and asked me to leave if I wasn’t going to buy anything. It was really disheartening, especially considering how much I’ve supported this business over the years. She didn’t even take a moment to consider that I wasn’t planning to stay long and I have been long term client.

I have only been here a few times but the service is always so welcoming and friendly! And the coffee is absolutely delicious! One of the coolest quirks of the place is there surveys! The first time I came in they had on their board ‘do you wear socks in bed?’ And this time it was ‘who would win, a bear or a croc?’ So much fun! Thanks guys, I look forward to...
