Fekerte's Ethiopian is great! The bain-marie with each menu option ready to go offers for a speedy service, which helps the line that extends to be quite long move at a steady pace. The prices are reasonable and the food tastes incredible! The option to have 2 meals in one as well as either over bread or rice makes the experience interesting and custom to you. They also use biodegradable products. The location can be a bit cramped and there is limited dine-in options, as it is a "hole-in-the-wall" style place with seating outside, but don't let it's location steer you away from the great food and lovely staff. I highly recommend this place!

It's a Quick-lunch style Ethiopian food place in the city. Very tasty food, takeaway only but there are seatings in and around the building to enjoy the food while it is hot. Decent quantity for a weekday lunch, portion might look small but don't underestimate the injera. That will fill your stomach. You will see a long line during lunch hours but don't worry, it will move super fast. Spicy eaters should ask for extra chilli, food is not very spicy as the name says.

Small place tucked away to the side of Makeshift. Outdoor seating under shade is available. Very good vego options, but I got the key wat and it was delicious! Also very cheap, only $12. The portion was small, but I think justifiable for the price. Will be going again to try different dishes. (Injera a little on the firenj side but understandable) Staff was very friendly and the lady who was running the place was very sweet. 😊

Clearly this small kitchen cares deeply about what they serve to their public. The gentle finesse in their use of spices results in the outcome of each and every dish to be so much greater than the sum of its parts. While they only serve 6 dishes + injera bread, what is on offer is diverse and so damn tasty. All dishes are gluten-free (except for the Injera bread), and 4/6 dishes are vegetarian. I can't think of another place in Canberra where it's so easy to get a healthy balanced meal, let alone for such a low price!! The only negative here might be the lunch time queue, but I assure you Fekerte's is well worth being patient for. Anyway, these day we all need to learn to be more patient, and value the opportunity to stand still...

How have I missed this gem before now? Tucked away in the bottom of the Nishi building a lunch of 2 options with rice was a very reasonable $13.50 (I had one chicken, one vegetarian with rice) I tasted some of the most flavour filled curries I have ever enjoyed. The lentils will be a new favourite and stealing some of the hubby's beans showed he picked best today - they are wonderfully spiced without being hot chilli. A new lunch favourite. Not sure if they are open for dinner but if they are it would be...
