I was extremely unimpressed with this KFC and what’s worse is it didn’t even seem busy at the time, but the store looked like they’d just had a record level of customers come through and as if they were situated in a busy nightclub precinct; it was 5:30pm and definitely not busy with no nightclubs in sight.
To start with, the service was dismal, with the only real reason I gave it two stars was because the teenager serving me said “Have a good afternoon, Sir” when I collected my food after a long wait (with no apology or reasoning provided).
I ordered via the app, walked in and immediately felt the ambience of the place was lacking (see photos for why).
The place was in a total state of disarray, there was wrappers on the tables, an eaten chicken wing lay on the floor near the bin.
A half eaten tub of potato and gravy (or just gravy perhaps) was spilt and left on the table, the manager didn’t seem to care and at no point asked her staff to tidy the customer areas, the staff seemed even less interested which makes me think that this is the ‘normal’ state of this restaurant. If that’s the case, it’s absolutely disgusting and some retraining needs to take place urgently.
The walls were horribly dirty with weeks or even months (potentially even years) of dirt built up, and the baby’s high-chair looked the same way - unsanitary.
Repairs to the electrics of the entry/exit door were done at some point but holes left in the wall, and no patching up appeared to be attempted. Paint, the size of dinner plates, were chipped off the wall and left in disrepair.
There is mould forming in the roof tiles from previous leaks.
A bin door were broken and left hanging off it’s hinges.
My friend went to the bathroom and found feces (poo) on the floor, wall, and back of the toilet (not pictured in the photos as it was in the disabled bathroom and I didn’t use that bathroom, nor would I post those photos here anyway).
My other friend asked staff to clean off two tables for us and the staff member obliged but managed to spray cleaning spray all over the arm of my friend without so much as an apology. The staff member cleaned off the two tables, and then left the rest of the tables in a dirty state before returning to the counter (which didn’t have anyone waiting to be served).
The management seemed lackadaisically and blissfully ignorant to the staff working. The front counter staff were talking to their friends who came in to visit and were swearing as they were talking, even though there were orders waiting to be served at this time (mine included).
The food was lacklustre, and bland, it tasted as though it had been sitting there for quite some time past it’s hold timer (the amount of time the food is allowed to sit there before it should be marked off as waste to avoid this particular issue - yes I know it seems wasteful but staff should only be cooking as much as they should need for the time of day to ensure waste is not a major problem, these statistics (based on history of the previous weeks for that particular time and day) are made available to managers to manage this situation).
It’s safe to say I won’t be attending these store again unless they seriously up their game.
A formal report has been made to KFC Australia prior to writing this review, so they can be made aware. No response has been received as yet although it’s only been approx. 20 hours and today is a Saturday, so it’s not really expected just yet. It’s also worth noting there was no ability to provide them with photos in the creation of...
Read moreI’m posting due to the same repeat offence occurring roughly around the same time at this same KFC restaurant. It’s obviously certain lazy staff giving this venue a bad name. Imagine my surprise, or lack thereof, to see the restaurant have a 3-star rating. I’m not sure what the place is like physically - I can only imagine this problem wouldn’t occur if I was standing there… but it’s all to common in this age of Uber to receive substandard service, though you pay a premium, because there is no accountability for poor service. How many people get in the car and drive to the venue to give it a piece of their mind?
My recurring problem is ordering wait for it.. original recipe chicken. The item the entire franchise is known for. It seems that every time I order from this venue, I can’t seem to receive this chicken. I’m usually just given what they do have a substitute - with obviously no communication about that. There is either malice of forethought or poor management whereby inadequate supplies of chicken are being purchased. It happens once, understandable. But a recurring issue, this speaks to something more. Whilst I welcomed my complaint being dealt with in a timely manner, and whilst I can’t begrudge the venue giving me one for $15 - though I do feel it is a little bit of a slap in the face - (but hey, they don’t owe me anything really & shame on me for going back)… it’s really the fact that voucher can only be redeemed by walking into The store; of which I wouldn’t have this problem if that is what I had first done… but I’m getting delivery. I don’t live in Canberra, I work there, so I don’t have a vehicle and I’m not paying more to Uber out to a kfc and back. So frankly this is a middle finger to me for my inconvenience, and now I write this as my middle...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at the Dickson KFC, and I feel compelled to share my utterly appalling experience. I can confidently say that it was one of the worst fast-food encounters of my life, and I am genuinely astounded at the lack of basic hygiene and quality control in this establishment.
Let's start with the most revolting aspect of my visit – the discovery of a hair in my meal. Finding a foreign object in your food is never pleasant, but the fact that it happened at a supposed reputable chain like KFC is downright unacceptable. It's beyond me how the kitchen staff could be so negligent as to allow such a disgusting oversight.
The cleanliness of the place was another major concern. The entire establishment seemed to be covered in dirt, from the floors to the tables. It's as if the concept of hygiene is entirely foreign to the staff at Dickson KFC. I could hardly enjoy my meal with the constant feeling that I was surrounded by filth.
Now, let's talk about the food itself – or lack thereof. The chicken was shockingly flavorless, as if it had been boiled in water with no seasoning whatsoever. A complete letdown considering KFC's reputation for its distinctive and delicious fried chicken. The chips, too, were a disappointment. Not a grain of salt in sight, leaving me with a bland and unsatisfying side.
But the pièce de résistance of my culinary nightmare was the burger I ordered. It was nothing short of a mayonnaise-laden catastrophe. I understand that condiments are meant to enhance the flavor of a burger, but drowning it in mayo to the point where the taste of anything else is nonexistent is downright disrespectful...
