I Ordered A Vermicelli Salad Bowl recently ; I Picked " Fish Sauce " BUT The Staff Gave Me " SALTY Soy Sauce " ( Exactly 100 % From Chinese Soy Sauce BOTTLE ).....WRONG Sauce, Indeed :-((( !!! Also The SAUCE in the Container Was Spilled OUT Half of them in A Bag....I Had to Chuck 1/3 ( A Third ) of The Meal ( Vermicelli Salad Bowl ) Straight into The Bin and I Also Sent 3 Emails to Them But Received NO REPLY At All !!! :-(((( VERY BAD Customer Service !!! No Reply from Instagram as well as Facebook EITHER :-(( !!! One Staff member even Tried To Mislead Facebook by Saying that My Account is A Business Account or Ad Account in order NOT To Let My Messages Get ACROSSED via Messenger in Both Facebook and Instagram . How MANIPULATIVE IT is ........I am Totally SHOCKED by Discovering This from Facebook and Instagram Staff :-0 :-0 !!!

HONESTY is The BEST ...

Awful food. My deep fried I don't know what it was but certainly nothing I'm familiar with, was greasy and tasted like dirty oil the only thing I could identify was the tofu. Whatever it was it tasted like the oil was old and left a nasty bitter aftertaste. Outrageously expensive for vegetables and fake meat. You may as well go somewhere else pay the same price for real prawns or real beef. When we arrived the waitress wanted to sit us at a table that was literally adjoining another groups table as though we were part of their group. I asked to sit elsewhere and she looked at me as though I'd demanded her first born child and insisted it was the only available table for 2 when there was clearly other tables. I pointed to a table and asked if we could have that one and she advised it was a table for 3 I said fine we'll go somewhere else as I didn't want to sit with a group of people I don't know. Then she relented. The food was salty greasy and unsatisfying. Won't be...

July 2023 review.

Au Lac have let us down on more than one occasion.

The food is good, but unfortunately they use HungryPanda (Chinese app) for delivery, where the drivers seem to take more than an hour to deliver the food, continually making stops due to taking multiple orders. I ordered food at 6:05pm and as I write this review, an hour and ten minutes later, I am still waiting for my food. We also paid $15 delivery fee. If I knew this would take so long, I would've just got in the car myself and picked it up. Don't order from here for delivery until they fix their delivery service. This is the second occasion we have ordered food. No restaurant in Canberra that offers delivery service should keep their customer waiting that long, especially when they pay close to $80 for two dishes and an entree! Update: 7:20pm, another 15 minute wait according to the driver. Food is not worth rating now, because it will be cold and no...

Au Lac Dickson is a good vegan and vegetarian restaurant. Every dish and every drink is vegetarian and vegan friendly. For those uninitiated, Au Lac's menu appears to be regular with dishes like chicken and duck. However delve deeper and you'll discover these dishes are all vegetarian/vegan that taste similar to meat. This is similar to the hawker stalls outside monastery areas in South East Asia. All dishes are tasty and delightful, with special notes for the duck wraps (Peking duck) and thecsizzle plates. On this occasion the zucchini fritters weren't the best as it had a heavier though crunchy batter, that was similar to a banana fritter batter. Usually it tends to be lighter. The Staff are friendly and helpful. You are quickly seated and served. There is plenty of seating indoors and large groups are catered for. There is no outdoor seating for those who are looking for that. Give Au Lac a try and you'd be nicely surprised.

Some vegan friends took us to this Vietnamese restaurant in Dickson and we were very pleasantly surprised. Every dish was delicious and I particularly liked the soy chicken and the mushroom fritters. The massaman curry was possibly better than the original beef dish it was mimicking. The restaurant itself is casual in style and dishes are reasonably priced. It was quite busy when we were there with in house customers as well as take away. Our friends did warn us that mains are often served before the entrees we’re finished and sure enough, despite us stipulating ‘no mains until entree’s finished’, the soy chicken appeared. This was rectified without any fuss. My husband and I will certainly be returning- I just want a whole plate of mushroom fritters to myself!😋 4.5⭐️ from me.

Loved our experience at Au Lac! At this stage, we can consider ourselves beginning to love the vegan cuisine and Au Lac helped us on that journey. It's our first time to eat at a vegan restaurant after we had a yoga retreat and ate only vegan dishes for a couple of days. Everything that we've ordered at Au Lac is just exceptional! We tried their Au Lac Spring Rolls, Chicken Laksa and their Au Lac Beef Pho. We loved it so much, it somehow made us forget that they are all vegan (even tasted better than the traditional meat dishes). Even the presentation of the food is very enticing. Their service is also good, they were able to serve the food quickly on our table. We will surely come back to try their other vegan dishes.
