Mochachos Kingston — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

As a latina the whole experience in this restaurant was offensive. From the food to the racist menu with stereotypical “mexican” names that made fun of the hispanic accent. Everything tasted like supermarket bought food such as cheap corn chips and dorito dipping salsa, and with supabarn so close it wouldn’t be surprising this is what they actually used. The chicken was unseasoned and the cheese was just melted mozzarella from the store. The price was ridiculous for something so unauthentic and low quality. The burrito with refried beans was such a disgrace that I couldn’t even finish it. Everything just tasted cheap and lazy. The service was the only thing that wasn’t horrible. Even the name Mochachos is spelled wrong, and the name for kid’s menu “Bambino” isn’t even spanish! We just feel bad for the poor employees who have to work in such a sad place and this review is in no way an attempt to put them down. Any other mexican restaurant would be 1000x better than this place. We strongly suggest that if you would like to try mexican food you should not even think about coming...

We ordered the Family Feast, which included chicken, two burgers, and Mexican rice. While the chicken had a decent spice flavor, it was very dry in all three pieces. Given that the meal included rice and chicken, we were surprised that we had to ask for cutlery, which should have been provided upfront.

In terms of the burgers:

Pineapple Chicken Burger: • The bun was served cold. • The pineapple added some needed moisture to the otherwise dry chicken. • The cheese was not melted, but simply placed on the burger.

Gourmet Chicken Burger • Again, the bun was cold. • It came with a slice of cheese rather than the crumbled feta listed on the menu. (Can provide photo proof) • There was barely any guacamole, which seemed to be just mashed avocado. • The burger was so dry it required a sip of water with almost every bite.

Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the price and the positive reviews we’d seen beforehand. We had looked forward to enjoying a meal with your team but left feeling...

I hate giving negative review's and criticism of food! I'll try to be as straight up as possible. Beef nachos very underwhelming for $24 they are way out of touch on this one, it really needs to be served hot so the cheese isn't rubbery, the beef strips need not to be chewy, toast those corn chips and flavour the tomato sauce/salsa. 8x Bbq wing and chips again needs to be hot, the bbq sauce smothered on top was very disappointing, i used a crazy amount of tissues to fix them up but i guess i was in denial, the saviour was the chips but again not sure why they were not hot!
