never in my life have i tasted such delicious food. i had been meaning to try Ethiopian food for a while ever since I found out there was a presence in Canberra, and this place is definitely perfect for a first time. I got the kidney beans and black lentils with rice AND injera and let me tell you, i transcended to another plane of existence. The flavors are woven together perfectly like a tapestry made by your grandmother and the mouth feel makes me feel like I'm under a heavy doona on a cold winter evening. if you don't try this place out, beware of the ultimate FOMO.

Checked out this stall at the Old Depot Markets 3 weeks ago. Food was absolutely delicious & very healthy. Serving size was very generous & the price was quite reasonable. The homemade chilli was amazing! It’s run by a family & the youngest daughter had the loveliest smile & manners. Will be back soon to try out other dishes.

Incredible. Had the tasting plate and it was only $19 and so good. Tasty and nourishing. The people there were really nice too. Only remembered to take a photo halfway through so you’ll have to imagine the plate was a lot bigger.

Title: A Culinary Delight: Senis Ethiopian Cuisine Takes Canberra by Storm!

Review:

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Ethiopian cuisine in Canberra, look no further than Senis Ethiopian Cuisine! This hidden gem has completely captivated my taste buds and left me craving for more. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm Ethiopian hospitality, and the dining experience that followed was truly extraordinary.

The ambiance at Senis Ethiopian Cuisine is cozy and inviting, with beautifully decorated walls and traditional Ethiopian artwork. The aroma of spices fills the air, whetting your appetite and setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey.

The menu is a treasure trove of Ethiopian delights, showcasing an impressive array of vegetarian and meat-based dishes. Whether you're a seasoned Ethiopian food aficionado or a first-time explorer, there's something for everyone. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their cuisine, readily providing guidance and recommendations to suit your preferences.

One of the standout dishes that I highly recommend is the traditional injera, a spongy sourdough flatbread served with a variety of flavorful stews and dishes. The injera is perfectly fermented, lending a tangy note to every bite, while the stews are a symphony of aromatic spices and tender, well-cooked meats or vegetables. The flavors are rich, vibrant, and balanced, transporting you straight to the heart of Ethiopia.

For those who appreciate a burst of flavor, the Doro Wat is an absolute must-try. This spicy chicken stew, simmered with berbere spice and served with injera, will leave you craving more. Each bite is an explosion of savory and spicy notes, delighting your taste buds with every mouthful.

The service at Senis Ethiopian Cuisine is impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culture and culinary heritage with guests. They take the time to explain each dish and its origins, making the dining experience both informative and enjoyable.

To complement the remarkable food, Senis Ethiopian Cuisine also offers an extensive selection of Ethiopian beverages, including traditional honey wine and Ethiopian coffee. The coffee ceremony is an absolute delight, with aromatic beans roasted and brewed right at your table. It's an experience that truly showcases the rich Ethiopian coffee culture.

Senis Ethiopian Cuisine is more than just a restaurant; it's an immersion into Ethiopian culture and gastronomy. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the passion for authenticity shine through in every dish. Whether you're dining alone, with friends, or celebrating a special occasion, Senis Ethiopian Cuisine guarantees an extraordinary culinary adventure that will leave you wanting to return time and time again.
