I had a very disappointing experience ordering food from this restaurant via Uber Eats. I ordered a vada pav and an aloo roll, selecting additional options as per my preference, which the app allowed me to do. The order was accepted immediately, and I waited for 30-35 minutes until my Uber driver informed me that the restaurant had just told him they couldn’t fulfill the order with the selected additions.
The driver kindly let me speak to one of the female staff members. I explained to her that if they couldn’t provide all the additions I requested, it was fine, but I would still like to have the curry on the side, which was an option I had selected and was willing to pay for, even if it incurred an additional charge. She then handed the phone to the owner, who I believe is named Ravi.
To my surprise, the owner’s handling of the situation was extremely poor. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. He claimed that because the curry option wasn’t paid for, they wouldn’t provide it, despite it being their fault for not updating their Uber Eats menu with proper pricing for such additions. When I suggested they could simply cancel the other additions I had selected and just include the curry, he flatly refused and stated that if I wanted the curry, they would send me a separate payment link, which sounded unnecessarily complicated.
My main issue wasn’t about paying a couple of extra dollars for the curry—I was happy to do that. The problem was the sheer lack of communication and the delay. It took over half an hour and a call from the Uber driver to inform me about the issue. Any experienced and customer-oriented business owner who wants to bring back their customers would have at least tried to provide a resolution, especially since this was their system error and oversight. Could have atleast added one small tub of curry as I, in the beginning itself, advised that I am fine with all the cut offs from my orginal order. Instead, the owner told me it wasn’t his responsibility and that I should complain to Uber Eats. This surprised me as I, myself have worked in retail food industry for several years and know it very clearly that it is the businesses' responsibility to change or amend or update anything related to ingredients and pricing in ubereats so that it reflects the correct information. In fact, they can make the changes themselves from the app itself.
When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming and didn’t justify the cost. The $14 aloo roll was plain, lacked flavor, and was smaller than a McDonald’s kid-size wrap. It’s clear that the owner doesn’t understand the importance of customer service or how to address issues on platforms where his business operates.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and the poor food quality further solidified my disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. This is my...
Read moreOrdered kadhai paneer and somasa chaat through uber eats. But, as soon as I took one bite from samosa chaat, I felt awful rotten taste from chickpeas in samosa chaat. I could recognise the bad taste as it was most likely from expired chickpeas. I called the restaurant straight away. The staff who picked up phone was very unprofessional and unapologetic. The girl straight away told me to come to restaurant so that they can replace me with another meal. She did not even apologise to me and asked me what I want. It was very unprofessional behaviour. Even when I went to the restaurant later on same day, I asked for half kg dessert instead of samosa chaat. Still no one apologised or even bothered to explain me that why it was tasted bad. I could have got really sick if I ate that food. They did not even realised the severity of the situation. Even at the end I got surprised that the staff asked me to pay $5 more for the replacement dessert as the somasa chaat was $15 and the dessert was $20. I have been working in this hospitality industry from 15 years and 6+ years as restaurant manager. But, I was even surprised to see that how come someone be so unprofessional. I have never seen so unprofessional staff. I would recommend management to hire at least a good skilled manager who can even train the staff properly to provide a better experience. There can be mistakes in kitchen while cooking. It is rare but still possible. A good front of house staff can cover up kitchen mistakes and can turn the bad experience to a good one. I will never order food from Chatkazz again and suggest others to be careful with service staff as they don’t even care the...
Read moreAs we saw the comments reply from the owner, we have taken the advise, while we were waiting outside, we call the staff to take our name and put on the waitlist; we been offered a table in about 10 minutes, which is responsible. The food was tasty and came quick. Very traditional, and lots of varieties. Ok, we understand the restaurant was busy. However, there are few things for your manager's attention, and to improve: Staff seem haven't been trained well. They just left the table uncleaned for about 10-15 minutes until the manager came to give them the instructions and helped them to clean. While we were still ordering the food, a staff member passed by just dropped a dish on our table without checking or telling the dish name. We have to call the staff back and ask her to check if that was the right dish for us. She then took the dish back to the kitchen and then brought the same dish out and placed it to another table just a few meters away. For the health hygiene reason, do not reuse the dish which were put on the wrong table. Those dishes should dump to the bin and cook a fresh new one. Please train your staffs with the mandatory health hygiene guidelines from the Department of Health. We ordered Jalebi as our dessert, and that took more than 30 minutes to figure out they actually do not have that dessert in the kitchen. During that 30 minutes, we called at least 5 staff members and a manager's attention for the last dessert dish. After all of the waiting, a staff finally came telling us that if we would like to swap to a different dessert dish. The takeaway container was oilly, wet, and dust inside, definitely not a...
