jay Bhavani Vada Pav - Canberra: A Delightful Indian Snack Experience
Jay Bhavani Vada Pav in Canberra offers a delightful taste of Indian street food, making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic flavors. Here's a breakdown of my experience with some of their offerings:
Bhel Puri: The bhel puri here is a true standout. It perfectly balances the tangy, spicy, and sweet elements, with the right amount of crunch from the puffed rice and sev. The fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors make it a refreshing starter.
Pani Puri: The pani puri is an explosion of flavors. The puris are crispy and light, filled with a flavorful mix of potatoes and chickpeas. The pani (spiced water) is tangy and invigorating, making each bite a delicious adventure.
Vada Pav: The star of the show, the Vada Pav, does not disappoint. The vada is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a nice kick of spices. Paired with soft pav buns and the signature chutneys, it's a perfect blend of textures and tastes.
Noodles (3 stars): The noodles, while decent, didn't quite match the high standards set by the other dishes. They were a bit bland and could use a bit more seasoning and spice to elevate the flavor.
Kulfi: To round off the meal, the kulfi is a fantastic choice. It's creamy, rich, and not overly sweet, with the perfect hint of traditional Indian spices. A refreshing and satisfying end to the meal.
Overall, Jay Bhavani Vada Pav delivers an excellent array of Indian snacks, with the bhel puri, pani puri, and Vada Pav being the highlights. The noodles were the only letdown, but the delicious kulfi more than made up for it. A solid...
Read moreWe have been regular eaters at Jay Bhavani and always loved the food. CTC sandwich has always been our favourite and we have been experiencing the taste has changed. I see more chunky veggies in it and either the cheese is too melted or itâs not melted at all. Bhakhri pizza is too spicy. ( Yes, the description says it has chilli but I can clearly taste the taste of garlic chutney they give with dosa. Could not stand the spice level. Maggie is not good at all. Onion pakoras are a big NO as well. They serve the Falooda in a plastic take away small glass and that doesnât justify the richness of Falooda. It didnât have any ice cream in it. Rabadi Falooda tasted like a rose milk sarbat. We tried the shezwan sandwich and the potato stuffing is the dabeli stuffing it self. Sandwiches are okay in taste. There as hardly any cheese on the sandwich.
Pani puri is the best over here. Regular bhel is a must to try. Vada paav dabeli is great too. We ordered thali and the paneer curry was home style and flavourful.
The staff is very nice but bit slow. The service is slow especially for the chats. Whenever I have been, there are hardly more than 2 tables still it takes for long for those girls to make just a bhel & a pani puri.
They always play loud Punjabi music. I canât feel the jay Bhavani Gujarati vibe. Canât enjoy the meal on loud...
Read moreService was ok ok, staff were day dreaming and pretend to be busy but canât see that much efforts. Even the sign at the gate was not changed and showed as closed, I had to ask and change it to open so that customers didnât get confused. Food was also ok, no complaints, decent nice food but when asked for masala dosa, staff replied that itâs not available now, but from evening time. When I asked what time as it was almost 4 pm and already evening, staff again got confused and said evening without specifying any time and gave the excuse that it was not available last month and just added this month. I didnât argued as she was already confused and I wonder if the item is available only then itâs on the menu or they put on the menu and say itâs something new and they are working on it ? I donât know, it was full confusing. One advise on the plates & cutlery, instead of disposable plateâs & cutlery, try introducing your branded cutlery as it looks cheap and unorganised operational issues. If they work on some of the issues and operational stuff, can easily create a market for its business. No complaints for the food, it was ok and decent. Happy to discuss more in details...
