We recently visited this restaurant for a family lunch and ordered a large amount of food. While the experience was generally okay, it wasnât quite as good as we remembered from previous visits.
One of the biggest downsides of the meal was the sashimi platter. Unfortunately, some of the tuna pieces were brown and had a noticeable off smell. When we brought this to the server's attention, they took the platter back and removed the tuna, replacing it with salmon. However, they left the other sashimi pieces that had been in contact with the spoiled tuna, which raised some hygiene concerns for us.
Additionally, the server seemed unhappy with our request, which made the situation feel a bit uncomfortable.
Overall, while the rest of the meal was acceptable, the quality and service were not up to the standard we had come to expect from...
Read moreHave been going to Kokoro regularly for at least three years and have continued to come back even though at times the food quality and service has been hit or miss... however we visited on Easter Sunday and donât think weâll be back. After being seated we were ignored while three other tables who arrived after us were seated, given water and all had their orders taken. We walked out after approx15 mins. We felt invisible. Yes it was a public holiday, yes you only had two staff serving but if youâre not going to be able to provide consistent service, donât bother opening. We noticed many tables were still uncleared.
By the sounds of a reviewer who also visited the same day, itâs just as well we left as I usually order the sashimi and I probably saved myself a stomach ache. Thereâs no excuse for serving fish thatâs not fresh. Lift your...
Read moreKokoro has been first choice restaurant for catching up with girls for many years. However, I was not impressed this time and most probably will not return anytime soon. We waited for a long time for food to be served. Miso soup was brought well before main meal. It was never a case before. It tasted overcooked, seaweed was mashy. Special and expensive sushi rolls were not complete - no fish roe on top. The taste was bland. When we asked why sushi rolls did not look like in the menu, we were told that there's a new chef and he has different vision. We however were offered fish roe on a side after our enquiry. All of us, 4 people at the same table, were served at different times, which is unusual for a good restaurant. Neither service nor food from Kokoro is something I...
