I have never liked Indian food in my life. It always tasted the same to me, cardamom, cumin, fennel seeds and heaps of turmeric. All looks the same, a thick sauce with a meat or cheese. That WAS the concept I had about Indian food. Absolutely love the culture and the people, but the food has never been my cup of tea. My neighbors next door from South India said: "Go to Spice Affair, it is very good, you will like it". Ok, I ordered their pistachio chicken...(silence yes that was it)... It was like that famous scene from Ratatouille when the little rat is smelling and tasting all the flavors in excitement, YES, IS THAT GOOD. Today I went again and tried their vegetarian dishes to throw a curve ball to my senses and boy! they were even better than the chicken. Try the Aloo Tikki entree and paneer chettinad. My wife asked for chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka, naan freshly baked. Seriously, it this good. Make sure to do a reservation because it fills up quickly. Try it and make your own judgement. On top of the craftsmanship put on the food, the service makes you feel like you are their most appreciated customer, then you look around and realize that everyone is being treated in such caring and special way. AGAIN, YES IS THAT GOOD. I do recommend to sit in to fully appreciate the experience, take away is great but this type of food (as all food) is better experienced when dinning in. Give them a chance to change your mind as they did to mine. Looking forward to my next visit. I hope my...

We have thought about trying this restaurant for a couple of years now but since I’m super fussy about my butter chicken & would only eat it from 1 restaurant in Canberra I was sceptical. Have tried lots of other Indian restaurants in Canberra but haven’t liked any of them. So I had messaged them on facebook to ask about the butter chicken & told them how I like it. They responded very promptly with how it was made, so we went in & ordered a takeaway. The owner (I didn’t catch his name) was a lovely man who was telling us that everything was freshly made to order not pre- made. That was impressive on its own, but what was even more impressive was he gave me a sample of the butter chicken sauce. It was ahhmazing! What a lovely surprise that was! I also ordered chicken tikka for a starter, that was the nicest tikka I have ever eaten in my life, wow just wow! My partner had papdi chaat that they loved & the chicken korma. Needless to say the butter chicken was creamy, spicy & the chicken was super tender. Next time I’m very keen to book a table & eat in. What lovely welcoming atmosphere, & I say to the lovely owner…. You are stuck with us now, it’s safe to say we will be...

Recently with my family and friends I visited this place. As I was missing my home town food so I ordered some Desi tadka food.

Here's presenting one of the most famous restaurants from Canberra @SpiceAffair - Indian cuisine restaurant based in Casey suburb.

In frame - Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Tikka and for mains we ordered Chicken Cheddinad my all time favourite ❤️ South Indian gravy it has coconut milk base. Along with Andra Chicken.. It's little hot 🔥 dish plus I asked to make it too hot. Not everyone's cup of tea I would say😜

and lastly Butter Chicken it was amazing.. Could get the charcoal taste in chicken and its succlent gravy was out of the world.. Best butter chicken I had it in my life.. All these gravy were enjoyed with tandoori, garlic and cheese naan.

Thank you entire team of @SpiceAffair I loved my experience and would highly recommend this place for all Indian food lovers in Canberra!

An affair I would like to have again!! Yep. :) If you are looking for a very tasty Indian food in the Gungahlin area, this is the place. Indian food kept the Indian way, instead of modernizing n messing up like many other places lately. Quantity was good for the price. That's a win!! Mid size dining area, highly recommended to reserve in advance during peak hours. The service was great, food was brought in the right order n perfect timing. The host stopped by to check mid dining which lot of places doesn't do these days. Good range in the bar, and a toilet facility available too.

We recently spent around $200 on dinner at Spice Affair Cuisine Casey and were very disappointed. The Yellow Daal Tadka tasted like plain boiled daal with no tadka, no salt, and no seasoning. On a previous visit, even the paneer dishes came out bland, with no proper flavour. For the price charged, the food quality should be much better. This is not what we expect from a restaurant of this standard. I sincerely hope management pays attention to improving taste and preparation.

Editing my review as we went back and the same dish we had last time (veggie korma) tasted different, very watery. I also noticed that they charge for the water they offer you when you arrive, without saying anything, very misleading. Very nice Indian restaurant, beautiful place. We had eggplant masala, veggie korma, garlic naan and basmati rice. Everything was quite delicious. Fast and great service, friendly staff. We will definitely come back.
