I went there to have lunch today. Got the chicken thali set. It was really good. The waitress was nice she asked me what i wanted i said rice and gundruk ko achar. Got the rice but she said she couldn’t do gundruk ko achar but to my surprise she was back with a bowl of gundruk ko achar after 2 minutes. I really appreciated that. The dahi and lalmon was good too. I expected the dahi to be sweet but it was sour which is excatly how it is in the nepali khana places back in nepal. I really liked that as well, wouldnt be as good if the dahi was sweet. The sourness cut through the sweet so well. I loved that attention to detail. I would highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere, vibes and service. They focused on the little things which to me matter the most. Cant wait to go back again.

I was looking forward for this restaurant and sadly it didn’t live up to the hype. The restaurant is next to very popular nepalese grocery store. The location of the restaurant is very pretty. The restaurant is cozy, the decorations are beautiful. The price for the dishes were average for the quantity of food we got. The hospitality was great but the food lacked taste. There was something missing in every dish we ordered. We ordered Pork Sekuwa, chicken sausages, chicken momo, mixed chowmein. I feel sad to write this review because they are very lovely people from the grocery store next door but I hope this review will help to bring positive changes in the restaurant. I will definitely visit again soon, looking forward for some good changes. Good luck 👍🏻

We recently dined at The Chimney Nepalese Restaurant & Cafe in Gungahlin and had a delightful experience. Their mixed chatamari, a weekly special, was a unique and delicious combination of egg, chicken mince, beans, and potato topped rice bread. The momo dumplings in vegetarian and chicken flavors were cooked by steaming and frying. The flavors were authentic, and the fillings were flavorful. Some dishes were a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall, it was a delightful dining experience. The Chimney Nepalese Restaurant & Cafe is a must-visit if you crave the rich flavors of Nepal. I'm looking forward to revisiting and trying their other delicious dishes on the menu.

Atmosphere was good.

I think I gave a good review before but looks like ownership has changed. Had the worst experience today.

Anyways, first of all, I would give a 4 star to Momo for the taste. The spicy chilly sauce could have been given separate to the other sauce in a different container. Some people don't like or cannot eat chilli. DONT MIX IT TOGETHER MATE!!

so please address this concern. YO TA BHATTI STYLE BHAO NI... HALERA DINCHU KHAYE KHAU NAKHAYE NAKHAU...

I ordered chicken biryani. I would give 0 star to it. It looked like a JAULO (RICE AND CHICKEN MASHED TOGETHER) was like a baby food literally. Had the worst experience on biryani.

To the person who cooked Biryani and plated it: Have you seen the picture of how to serve biryani ever! Or you tried to be lazy and served us the food by mixing the rice and spiced meat together?I don't know if it is your style, please let me know so that I can order better food when I am there. But it is not how the biryani looks like. Would you expect same when you pay for your food? It seems like Even 4 year old can make tastier and presentable biryani than you. No offence but I am just trying to relate the food with the quality I got today.

It seems like there is an issue with most of the Nepalese restaurants I have Been to... Bhat Ra biryani masala haleko masu bhutera dinchan kattile.. but seemed like your was not like that... It had a taste of biryani but was not presentable and eatable... I had few spoons and left it.

To the owner: please change the style or remove biryani from your menu. CONSISTENCY ON QUALITY OF FOOD PLEASE WHEN SOMEONE PAYS FOR IT. Only service and atmosphere doesn't make restaurant good. Food counts the most.

I had chicken tandoori, naan, khaja set and lots of food before (which were super delicious) but this time, I am disappointed.

So, I hope you improve the quality. It seems like I am not coming again ever.

To the readers: I hope you have a different experience than me and I hope owner improves the presentation, taste and quality of Biryani after reading this.

Disclaimer: it is my personal experience and some other person may like your food and may have different or...

Unfortunately there’s no zero star to rate this restaurant. It’s not even deserve 1 star. Creepy service !

It’s beginning with customers just left the door with Complaining about this horrible service loudly next to us . So I took a chance, probably won’t happen to us. Finger cross 🤞

My partner and I came at 8.20 pm and restaurant were full. I asked one of the staff (girl) to get a table (IF THERE IS ANY) or happy with take away if it’s faster. and the she told us 15 mins were the waiting time to dine in, so we’re alright to wait OUTSIDE at rainy and cold night. Then a guy staff offer to see the menu. Which is alright until here 😊

After awhile Another girl staff came to us and told us that restaurant really full. I asked politely so is it possible or not , if it’s not possible THATS TOTALLY FINE. But she said it’s fine she’ll double check.

Not too long , a table we expected was vacant early, moreover there was another customer also just left the table. And at the same time group of Nepalese come inside and after a table.

Those table were ready to clear , but the staff took ages to clear up the tables. And it’s 8.45 I tried to follow up how’s my table . But I found those group just came got the table first ! What a ridiculous! They just wait less than 10 minutes ! I ask to talk with the manager but they didn’t let me talk. What kind of hospitality???

And those table assigned for me, they want to give to another people who wants to move to another table. It’s total mess ! That’s a shame, their priority is their community first kind of racism as we are not Nepalese .

You guys should more organise and know the priority. We waited half an hour...

We were 5 people who came all the way from darwin to Canberra. Going interstate, you would always look for nepalese food especially during dinner time, we went there because of all the reviews that was posted, we were late a bit however, if you can’t serve them because it was late then you should have denied serving us in the very first place. We were informed that they would serve us even when we were late, so we went there. Upon reaching, we were shown the table near the toilet and there were so much bug flying around. However the service was really bad. The food was horrible. We had ordered thali set and the veggies was smelling and was old, the chicken had big pieces and was reddish inside, the rice was stale and had a weird taste, panner was made in butter chicken sauce, we could actually taste it and had a really funky smell. When we asked them for extra rice, we were told that they did not have rice, we were okayy with that however, they brought us another old stale rice when they informed us they ran out of rice. Where did it come from? Whose rice was given to us??? Table service was the worst. I am myself someone who has worked in this industry for a while, so I know how it goes and I can tell you this that it is the worst experience I ever had in a...
