Slow Noodle Fast — Restaurant in District of Tuggeranong

After going here for years, I finally figured out that I should do something constructive and eat every single thing on the menu so that I can walk into one place with an educated opinion on everything that is on offer. I managed to do this over a six month period and found more than a few surprises that I would not have considered if I had just stayed with my regular picks. This place, without a doubt is my favorite Asian food place in all of Canberra. Probably the most surprising thing is the Dim Sims. They are unlike any that I have had before, and in a good way. Once you have had a range of various noodles, you can start mixing it up a bit. I'm a fan of the thick rice noodles, so ask for them in everything. Meat Lovers with Thick Rice noodles is one of my regular orders. I'm also a massive fan of the Curry Laksa, but find myself now also heavily swayed towards the Seafood Tom Yum. I was quite surprised how good the vegetarian dishes were too and I never thought I would enjoy them as much as I did. If you've only ever gone the excellent Pad Thai, I can recommend that you lash out a bit. There are way more excellent dishes lurking on the menu. Be brave and daring. Eat your way through the menu. Have something truly distinguishing to put on...

Extremely fresh vegetables, meats and seafood ingredients.

They are happy to make a dish, to your own personal tolerance food needs. If needed, always ask them.

For example: gluten free / dairy free etc) they can accommodate you and suggest.

Friendly staff, but more like a family atmosphere restaurant.

I can see there true passion for food, they love what they do! They always are happy to see you, showing a positive cheerful customer service.

Been going down to Slow Noodle Fast at the Dale for over 15 years now and it’s never let me down. Generous portion sizes and fresh ingredients. Chicken tastes fresh, unlike what you find at other places. Highly recommend the no.9 Satay Box. Get it with a dimmy on the side. Fills you right up the perfect amount.

The other thing—it’s not flash. It’s a true hole-in-the-wall. That’s how you know it’s gonna be good. They let the food speak for itself, not flashy decor...
