Space Kitchen in Phillip is a culinary experience that combines innovation with a playful twist on modern dining. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a vibrant, futuristic ambiance that sets the tone for an exciting meal. The décor is sleek and stylish, with a space-themed design that adds a touch of whimsy to the dining experience.

The menu at Space Kitchen is both inventive and diverse, offering a range of dishes that cater to different tastes while pushing the boundaries of traditional cuisine. The breakfast and brunch options are particularly noteworthy, with dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. The ‘Hot Cakes’ are a standout, presented like a work of art with vibrant colours, fresh fruit, and edible flowers that make it almost too beautiful to eat. The flavour, however, matches the presentation, with a perfect balance of sweetness and texture.

For lunch, the burger options are a crowd favourite, featuring juicy patties, fresh ingredients, and house-made sauces that elevate the flavours. The ‘Space Chicken Burger’ is a must-try, combining crispy fried chicken with a tangy slaw and spicy mayo that packs a punch. The sides, such as the sweet potato fries and the rocket salad, complement the mains perfectly.

The dessert selection at Space Kitchen is nothing short of spectacular. Known for their elaborate, Instagram-worthy cakes and pastries, it's hard to resist indulging in something sweet. The ‘Space Crème Brûlée’ is a delightful twist on the classic, with a smooth, creamy texture and a crisp caramel top that cracks perfectly under the spoon.

Service at Space Kitchen is attentive and efficient, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend their favourites. The café is often bustling, particularly on weekends, but the energy adds to the overall experience rather than detracting from it.

In summary, Space Kitchen offers a dining experience that is both fun and flavourful. With its creative dishes, lively atmosphere, and excellent service, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a meal that’s out...

The atmosphere and overall menu is fantastic, but I think we went on a bad day. Sadly, they get this negative review because of it. I appreciate that they were able to have a table for us after we were willing to wait 20-30 mins without a booking, we enjoyed their coffee, and saw all the amazing cakes and pastries they have, the coffee was beautiful by the way. They used nice coffee beans and it was made perfectly. We eventually sat down after a table became free and we were really impressed with the menu, there were some very funky options. We made the order, and we waited 45 minutes, and after we noticed the tables around us that arrived after us and ordered after us getting their food way before us, we decided to question the timing. We understood how busy they were but didn’t understand why other tables with more than 2 people, who ordered a while after us got their food before us, and we were just a table of two and ordered two simple dishes.. we were then told that our order has progressed and is now being made next, we didn’t believe it, we knew that there was obviously an error, and our order was either reprinted and or switched to go in front. We would’ve just preferred some honesty, if they came out and told us they made an error and they’ll do the order straight away, then it would’ve been 100% fine. But it was obviously covered up to make it look like our order was already next in line. Food arrived and the eggs Benedict eggs were not runny, they were close to well done, which traditionally are supposed to be runny eggs in a Benedict, the waitress said that that’s how the eggs are supposed to be, which is nonsense. The overall food was more on the average side, but I wouldn’t rate it anywhere near what people are raving on about this place. There’s better places out there. As I mentioned, we probably just went there on a bad day, but first impressions are the last ones with me. Happy to not return to this place when I’m back in Canberra next time. Good luck and I hope this place eventually gets it...

Visited Space Kitchen, renowned for its elaborate cakes and desserts. Starting off, the cafe exudes a modern vibe, complemented by an unmissable cake and dessert display - an absolute feast for the eyes. My friend enjoyed a well-brewed latte while I opted for the "Energiser" juice, a refreshing blend of watermelon, cucumber, apple, raspberry, lime, and mint. Perfectly fresh and invigorating!

For mains, my friend dove into the breakfast burrito, packed with an assortment of delightful ingredients from scrambled eggs to charred corn and chipotle sauce. It was as filling as it was flavorful. I settled for the summer Bircher muesli, a visually appealing dish with a delightful combination of mango, fresh berries, pineapple-infused pear, and more.

Cakes are truly the star attraction here. My friend's "Twice on a Stick" was decadently rich, and my "Psychedelic Mushroom" did not disappoint. However, the "Unicorn Hotcake," while tantalizing on the digital menu, missed the mark slightly by not featuring the anticipated rainbow base.

What's noteworthy is their app-based ordering system. Having images for every menu item is a brilliant touch, ensuring you know precisely what to expect. Although prices lean toward the higher end, they reflect the overall experience and the meticulous presentation of each dish. Service was commendable, with our server being attentive and efficient, especially given how bustling the place was.

In conclusion, if you've never been to Space Kitchen, it's an experience worth indulging in, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Highly...

Space Kitchen: An Out-of-this-World Experience! After dazzling over the house-made pastry counter that features such unique creations as the Mouse Trap, Psychedelic Mushroom and an assortment of "bombs" ... The cakes, the cookies and macaroons ... You'll want to radio back to Houston about this cosmic contact, too!!! I was greeted with broad smiles and a happy hello by the counter staff. I had previewed the menu and was excited to try the Space Green Eggs & Ham - a fun twist on eggs Benedict - with focaccia bread, sautéed baby spinach, sweet potato crispies, ham, poached eggs, and GREEN hollandaise sauce! It was after 2pm and breakfast service concludes at noon, however the server checked with the kitchen and it was made possible for me! I had an orange juice and a cappuccino that was delivered to my table before I could remove my coat! I was seated across from the open kitchen and could see how hard everyone works. All of the staff is incredibly professional and they stay busy. I'd love to get a sneak peek at how these desserts are made! They are truly incredible! Another table ordered the "Bomb" - a super-fun twist on Black Forrest cake with chocolate brownie, cherry gel, vanilla cremè and chocolate mousse ... And it's served with a live sparkler! The presentation of everything here is superb! They offer a hearty menu, a positive vibe, and spectacular service. I highly recommend visiting Space Kitchen for a stellar experience!

Space kitchen offers a Friendly service that provides wonderfully created meals with a visual flair and good balance of flavours and textures. Space kitchen is open early for breakfast and has wonderful options from the usual full/big breakfast, breakfast fritters, bacon and egg rolls, coconut Bircher muesli to creative options like lemon meringue french toast, arancini Benedict, pulled pork Benedict and more. Hang around for lunch and you can go for Japanese poke bowl, teriyaki bowl, lamb salads and more. Feeling like having something less creative? Well there's burgers and fish 'n chips also. The cakes are a must try and definitely their speciality. I suggest sharing the desserts as a treat. There are often themed special dishes to suit the season. There are large cakes in 8, 10 and 15" sizes with the larger sizes requiring pre-ordering, as well as smaller boutique cakes and individual serves. There is also a Magical afternoon tea where there are many cakes selected and presented creatively on a sharing plate. You can order directly from menu on QR code or at the counter. However, There are other options available on the online menu that aren't mentioned on the printed menu. There is a coffee card offer well. Though note that you will need to go to the counter to get your coffee card stamped if ordering via the QR code. There is limited parking on the street with more at Westfield Woden mall and near the Hellenic club.
