This is based off of our own experience and should be read as so. Often places change and people should experience for themselves first. Take away - pre ordered
Entree: Money bags Curry puffs Prawn rolls - they had none but kindly offered the next best alternative, great service.
Mains:
Chicken penang curry - a kick of spice which was super good, heaps of sauce to go with our coconut rice, which was also beautiful.
Massaman curry - we asked for no vegetables and it was amazing. Packed full with meat to the brim!
Fried rice - no faults super delicious!
Crying tiger - refer to photo of this. It eas a tad disappointing and we understand the costs of purchasing red meat or anything for that matter but it was thicker cut steak compared to what we've had and the sauce just tasted like soy sauce. A little disappointed however it wasn't edible so we grew a pair and ate it anyways, had some Thai dressing left over from a meal and made a salad so it was a win win.
Chicken pra ram long song (stay sauce) - they had forgotten this dish, it is a fault of our own as we shoukd of counted the dishes but I didn't feel the need too inside of their restaurant.. infront of people.. just made me feel a little uneasy thinking of doing this, quite karen like. We also didn't ring to let them know, it's fine even if we did we couldn't have driven back in and we live 45mins out of town, it's Friday it's fine.
All in all their service was great, the recommendations were a plus! And the food didn't taste bad it was really really good but all of that cost us $122. I feel for the price and how the crying tiger was just didn't fit right. Chicken meals were cheaper, no menu online again we aren't in town often to grab one, so for what it's worth and how it was 4 years ago I feel the money wasn't worth it in...
Read moreAmazingly MEDIOCRE !
The tasty delights that the name implies are just not happening. We had: Satay chicken entree - tiny, thin tenderloins on sticks. The such was bland. Calamari entree - out of a box, though tender with sweet chilli sauce (bottled) BBQ chicken main - about a 1/4 BBQ's chicken plus salad leaves + sweet chilli sauce (bottled) Pad Thai prawns (2) + seafood main - that tangy Pad Thai zing was not there and the cooked slice of lemon didn't give it anything. Coconut Rice - couldn't taste any coconut flavour.
This is my honest opinion. We were both really disappointed in their bland food and felt way overcharged. We followed their menu to order, knew how much to pay, were expecting their 10% Early Bird Discount, and were then charged about $9 more than we expected. We're told it wasn't their menu site (although we ordered by their numbered dishes and they recognised those), so the prices were not theirs, they don't give a discount and these are their prices - we ordered, we had to pay.
Nothing more worth saying.
EDIT: I have just read your reply.
I did come to your kitchen (door) by being a customer, so I'm in the perfect place to comment on our food. If this is what Dubbo residents put up with, to be kind to your customers, maybe you could drop...
Read moreLast night our family of seven people bought take away Thai for dinner from the Amazing Thai restaurant and we were very disappointed as we read the review beforehand. In particular the Masaman beef curry while tasty was very bad value. We bought two large serves and between the two there was around a total of 12 smallish pieces of beef at $19.90 per serve. In other words each piece of beef was charged at around $3.20. In addition, the amount of potato was ridiculously small so we could not even fill up on vegetables. Also, one of the chicken dishes we had, I cannot remember its name, had so little chicken it may as well be called a vegetarian dish. When we are in Dubbo next time we will not be going to the Amazing Thai. "Amazing" is...
