Worst Chinese I've ever had. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork, a Large Special fried rice, and a bag of Prawn chips. Not only was it the most expensive Chinese I've had but it was inedible. I had put the Chinese into an esky and drove an hour and a half home and put straight into the fridge. At 6pm I opened the containers to heat up for tea. The first thing I noticed was a burnt smell when I opened the fried rice. It tasted burnt, was so over cooked came in a small container and was most definitely not a special fried rice. Contained nothing that you find in a special fried rice, just a couple of prawns, 4 in total. The sweet and sour pork tasted so bad, like it had been cooked in really old oil or something and looked like dog food. The chicken chow mein wasn't much better, very over cooked and the vegetables were the texture of mushy frozen vegetables. And the fried noodles were so over cooked they tasted like burnt toast. When I called to complain I was told that because I drove an hour and a half home, that they wouldn't refund me my money, and that noone else complained about the food that day. This was told to the lady who answered the phone to tell me by the owners. The lady on the phone said I could ring back the next day as the owners son would be in, and he pretty much runs the business. Took trying for two hours and leaving two messages for them to call me before I decided to leave this review. After all this I looked up just how much money's worth of food I had to throw away, and was astonished to realise this slop had cost me $62. No bill was given to me so I just scanned my card and left. As the lady just kept calling my 12 year old son Handsome, and kept asking him questions...
Read moreThe service was good. We were given the freedom to choose any seat we liked and was well looked after. As for the food, the hot and sour soup was a standout, pleasantly surprising us with tender BBQ pork and a generous amount of vegetables. It wasn't traditional, but it was delicious. The corn and chicken soup was also lovely, with a comforting, well-balanced flavor.
The satay chicken and garlic mixed vegetables were both full of flavor, while the Mongolian lamb was decent, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the salt and pepper pork was a disappointment â the batter was thick and lacked flavor. The fried rice was fairly ordinary and didnât particularly stand out.
On a positive note, the portion sizes were generous. That said, given the price, I expected the overall quality of the dishes to be...
