Love this place! Especially their Friday Happy Hour Deals! *EDIT 2 months later* I have to edit my review as my first experiences here were great, but it seems to have declined the more & more we have been. Firstly they have taken some of their ‘nicest’ cocktails off the happy hour menu. They used to have their nice “more expensive” (like the pina colada & sours) on the happy hour list, but it now seems only the cheaper ones are available. My friends & I came for a bottomless brunch & the food portions were EXTREMELY small ( 1 dumpling per person ) 🤣 The appetisers we’re yum & the spritz’ drinks offered but for the price…. I have been to multiple bottomless brunches at other facilities for only $60 that offer appetisers to share for the group & a main course meal each, as well as selected cocktail options to choose from. We all left this bottomless brunch still feeling hungry. We were a group of 4 & they placed us in the middle of 2x large 15+ groups & we could not hear each other. The inside tables were empty so we asked to move. Not to mention the customer service has declined rapidly… staff aren’t very polite on arrival & seem irritated not empathetic when something is not to standard. My friend ordered the blue Aqua cocktail & it was extremely syrupy & not nice. We kindly let the staff know it wasn’t very tasty & she told me it’s a pre-made cocktail in a bottle that they just pour into the glass. I proceeded to say it is too strong & sweet to enjoy & asked if we could swap it for another one. When she returned to the table with the new drink, she didn’t apologise or even say “here is your drink” she just placed it on the table & strutted off! Multiple cocktails we had that night were not the best & we’re left unfinished. The espresso martini’s were very watery & not frothy. At most bars we go to, the bar staff are great & actually ask us if we like the cocktail on the first taste & if we don’t, they offer to make a new one. Very sad as this was our regular restaurant we liked to go to, as we live in the resident part of the building.

I’ve been to Sweetwater many times, first time being around 4 years ago. Went back many times as the food and cocktails were creative and delicious. Went back for the first time in a year and a half and I can say that everything has dropped down a tier. The serving sizes have been cut by 25% and the prices have increased by 25%. They used to have a beef massaman curry that was delicious and would be a go-to order every time I would come. They still have this on the menu however now it’s just called a ‘massaman curry’ priced at $32 and you have the option to add your protein. Add beef for an extra $13. So it’s now $45 dollars for a beef massaman curry NOT including rice which is an additional $5 for a regular. So this is now $50 for a curry at a restaurant that is not fine dining nor anything ‘special’. Don’t get me wrong, so fine to pay that for a dish at a fine dining restaurant but sweetwater is a bar. We ordered the pork shao mai dumplings which were yummy however no different from your classic frozen ones from a cheap takeaway restaurant. Cocktails were amazing, they’ve mastered them and loved the variety. Totally willing to pay between $20 and $25 dollars for that but just so not worth it for food that is a small portion and lacks the depth of flavour needed for a $50 curry. Anyways feel like this review has been mainly negative 🤣. It’s not to say I won’t ever come back but I left feeling a bit disappointed, having comparing it to what Sweetwater Rooftop Bar used to be.

We came early on a Saturday for dinner (5pm) and the place had a nice bustling vibe. Sun was setting and the whole place sparkled. Great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and warm. Lots of welcoming smiles. Service was fast. We made a booking and were ushered to our seats quickly. Menu is more than sufficient. Drinks looked amazing, although we didn't have any drinks. Our food came very fast. Everything smelled and looked amazing. We ordered 3 entree sized plates: the cauliflower, the soft shell crab and sticky beef. The serving sizes are generous. They were more like share plates. All of them are well presented and almost too good to eat. Cauliflower was firm, not crunchy. The sesame seeds were fragrant. Sauce was slightly acidic and sweet. The whole dish worked well together. This was my missus' favourite. The softshell crab was cooked to perfection. Crunchy, not oily. The crab itself was meaty. Paired with a slightly sweet vinegarette and veges that brought out the flavours of the crab. The sticky beef with slim straws of deep fried potato was sweet and acidic. Big flavours bursting in the mouth. This was my favourite dish. Staff came around to ask if everything was ok. Attentive and on the ball. Well done. Asian fusion done right. We'll be back for more.

Had the pleasure of experiencing Sweetwater Rooftop Bar very recently having being invited to attend a friends' 50th surprise party. There were perhaps 35-40 people attending this event. Nearby was another celebration for someone's 30th, (saw the balloons with the number) and many other diners and people coming and going simply there for a drink. There was a little bit of a wait for service at the bar, but knowing Sweetwater specialized in cocktails this was not unexpected as each one takes time to mix/prepare etc. People who were waiting to be served at the bar, whether from the 50th, the 30th, and all others simply formed a couple of casual queues. It was all very polite, no pushing, shoving, jumping queues, very relaxed, very friendly and the wait was short, 10mins at most perhaps. Our party had platters of finger-food passed around by staff, a different dish every 20 mins or so. Perhaps a dozen different dishes. I tried every one of them, OMG. The food was top quality restaurant level of excellence. Not just your average spring roll with a dipping sauce usually being passed around at similar type functions. Of the ones I can recall- battered eggplant- delicious. A couple of different small dumpling dishes. Fried squid to die for. Salmon portion roll type dish. Rabbit spring roll. Boneless chicken dumpling dish, Battered chicken wings. Each different dish so tasty and top quality. I very rarely take the time to do reviews but I was truly impressed, and so very pleasantly surprised as each new dish arrived. For me the food was a 10 out of 10. Never had better, accolades to chef/kitchen staff/servers. DJ played pleasant easy-listening music at comfortable level, easy to converse with friends. We all had a great night. Can't wait for our...

I have visited this establishment 4 times now. The first experience was lovely and I ranted and raved to all my friends about the place. All of my friends returned with really poor reviews which was shocking to me. I returned twice myself and was also left incredibly disappointed both times. On both occasions the waitress was so nasty and rude, the food was not as good as usual and we had to send drinks back. I thought I would give it another go yesterday; the service was exceptional which was lovely considering how poor it was the prior times, I felt like we were really well taken care of -so a big thank you to her! However i was a little disappointed with the food, although yummy some of the dishes were on the colder side and being share plates, adding them to your own cold plate obviously cools the food even more. I feel like either the food needs to come out piping hot or warm plates need to be served with the food. I came with my mother who is a chef and she had a few things to say about the food but I will leave that to her own review. What really lead me to write this review however was how violently sick I was after eating here. We ordered off the gluten free menu for the whole table so we could all share and I could enjoy each dish. Before I even finished my meal I already felt funny. I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me once leaving the restaurant and I had to pull over. I’m so sad to say that every experience just seems to get worse and worse. It’s such a shame as I have friends who recently moved into the apartments and Sweetwater was such a easy and convenient option for us. After 3 more attempts I just don’t think I’ll be returning. Really...
