I booked a room at Tradewinds for New Years Eve from the Qantas website with the expectation that the Fremantle suite having a view of Fremantle harbour (as advertised in all of the photos provided). On arrival at 1:40pm for a 2:00pm check in I was advised my room wasn't ready which was understandable, I was offered a room on a lower level which I declined because I believed I had booked a room with a view. I was told all the rooms have the same view. We had lunch at the restaurant which was OK except for the fact the wine we ordered was out of stock. After about 10 minutes we were told we would be refunded, we asked for a menu to choose another wine. The waiter walked off and never returned. We located him talking to other staff with no apparent intention of bring us menus and sorting out our order. At 2.30pm I was phoned to say the room was ready. On collection of the card keys I wasn't offered any advice on amenities and simply pointed to the lifts. My room had no view of Fremantle whatsoever with it being on the back of the hotel with only a view of a derelict building and locals fighting amongst themselves. The rooms couch was filthy with stains and the shower smelt of urine even after I rinsed it. I rang reception to complain and was told there were no other rooms and I could simply get my money back. I declined due to it being new years and plans already made in Fremantle. We were then showering and getting ready when a staff member knocked on the door and entered the room after being told to wait until I was dressed. My naked partner had to run into the bathroom with the male entering. I had the do not disturb pushed, on inspection it was found to be faulty with no ability to deadlock the door. The male offered an apology and a bottle of champagne for the confusion which I appreciated. At 3am I was woken up by someone collecting bottles from the bins located rights outside my room. This went on for some time and kept us awake. We left the hotel as soon as we woke at 6am. I will never book another room at the Tradewinds or recommend it due to it being way overpriced with next no customer service and the hotel being filthy with even the chairs at reception being dirty and stained.

Poor experience. Nine of us girls went to Tradewinds Hotel for a brekafast. We have booked in a week in advance. When we came there, we were welcomed with a question Did we call in the morning to confirm the booking (we have sent a confirmation email 2 days ago. ) First...we ordered a coffee for all of us...the staff mixed up our order and all of us got different coffee than we ordered but we took what we were offered just not to make any probl. Then the actually breakfast... I hade the Chicken Waffle...the waffle was very dry and thick, no maple syrup what so ever so I had to order more maple syrup, same with the rest of the ladies who had the waffles. The rest of them were not pleased with their food aswell. Haloumi was dry, muesli and yoghurt, not enough milk or yoghurt...after our breakfast, we ordered French toast to share...The staff took away our dirty dishes and cutlery...then they brought the French toast on the table...and they didnt serve us new plates or cutlery until we had to ask for it!!! And the way that throw the cutlery on our table was just horrible. After, when we payed for our breakfast, on our way out... the staff said and I qote: " The noise level had dropped considerably now that your group was out." Me and my group of friends are visiting a different place for breakfast every Saturday and this place was the worst for sure.

The Tradewinds Hotel: Fremantle's Breezy Oasis! Forget everything you thought you knew about hotels in Fremantle. The Tradewinds Hotel isn't just a place to stay, it's a breath of fresh air (literally, thanks to that famous Freo Doctor!). But don't let the name fool you, this isn't some windswept shack on the coast. From the moment I stepped into my room, I was blown away (sorry, couldn't resist!). Spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, it felt more like a luxury apartment than a hotel room. Seriously, the bathroom alone was bigger than my first apartment! The pool area was an oasis of calm, perfect for escaping the midday sun (and yes, the occasional gust of wind). But the real highlight? The rooftop terrace! With panoramic views of the harbor and comfy loungers perfect for soaking up the sunset, it was the ideal spot to unwind with a drink in hand. And speaking of drinks, the hotel bar was a great place to mingle with fellow travelers and enjoy a local craft beer or two. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and recommendations for things to see and do in Fremantle. Sure, the wind can be a bit boisterous at times, but that's all part of Fremantle's charm. Embrace the breeze, and you'll have an unforgettable stay at the Tradewinds Hotel. Just remember to pack a hairbrush!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. IT IS NOTHING LIKE THE ADVERTISED PHOTOS ON BOOKING.COM. 1 STAR AT BEST!!!! FILTHY. ||This hotel looks nothing like the advertised photos on booking.com. The images look stunning and the surroundings are amazing. On arrival, we were so disappointed with the hotel. It looks nothing like the photos. The staff at reception were very polite. however, the hotel is a total dump. 1 Star in my opinion.||Our room was tiny, malodorous and had ripped carpets. There was no room to swing a cat. Everything was jammed-packed.||The bedroom was small and stank. The air con unit was filthy and the air that was blowing out of it was disgusting. I don't think it had ever been cleaned. There was no way I was letting that air blow on me at night!!! ||The corridors around the room were awful, there were empty trays with half-eaten food lying everywhere, and napkins blowing around the lobby floors. The lift was filthy and stained, ||The pretty rooftop bar in the advertised photos was not open and did not look like anything as advertised. ||The swimming pool was the worst I have ever seen in my life!!|You could see the dirt in the pool and the scum lying all over the top of the pool. It again looked nothing like the advertised photos. It was small and disgusting, There was no way I would even step foot in that pool. There was a family there with their small children who were eating crackers in the pool. (Adding to the filth)|The sunbeds were stained brown and looked as if they were very old, with holes in them and dirt all over them. |Again nothing as advertised!!.||So as you can imagine we did not stay. We were there for approximately 1 and a half hours. We ate at the restaurant and again it was disgusting. The waitresses came out with one plate at a time and we were waiting to get our food whilst others had no choice but to eat there's as they had been waiting so long and it was cold. |The tables were old and tatty. Again nothing like the photos. ||We left the hotel. I spoke to the manager prior to our departure and said there was no way I was staying here as it was nothing like the advertised photos. He did offer me an alternative room . However, I informed him that I had booked the Ritz and was going there immediately as I knew there would not be any false advertising and I would not be disappointed.|| I did ask if he would give me a refund and he said he was about to finish for the day and he would email me the next day with a refund. But guess what! Exactly as I expected no email!!!|I emailed a few days later and again as I expected a long-winded email apologising for the experience however he informed me that he did not offer me a refund and as I left voluntarily he could not issue one!!! |Well, you know what I am not surprised one bit!!! With the state of the hotel, I wouldn't expect anything else from the management. ||If I was you I would NOT book this hotel. ||There are far nicer ones to stay in that are as ADVERTISED AND NOT MADE TO LOOK GOOD USING PHOTOS TAKEN 10 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!||This didn't spoil our holiday we had a fabulous time...

The other day my partner an I went here for lunch- what a terrible experience.

Firstly, when we sat down, the atmosphere was great. The outdoor dining area is open and modern, that is probably the only positive feedback I could express about our experience.

The staff were no where to be seen. Once I found a bartender I approached him and asked him where I had to go to order, his response was "umm I'm not sure, I think you order inside ay?"

So i walked inside the venue looking for an "order here" counter and preferably a more professional staff member to help us, again there was no one insight.

After a couple of minutes of walking/waiting around a very flustered and unwilling gentlemen took my order. He was very blunt and unfriendly. At this point I wish we had just walked out, but we were hungry.

When our food arrived, we just laughed in disappointment. The portion size was joke for the price we paid for something I could have just made at home.

It's pretty disappointing when you take your partner out somewhere for a nice day and it results in an experiences such as the one the Tradewinds provided us. We vowed to never go there again, until we had a wedding reception there a few weeks later.

Ill tell you what, if the bride and groom hadn't booked the venue already- we would have talked them out of it!

The reception was much and much the same as our lunch experience. The customer service was absolutely deplorable. The staff didn't know what they were serving the guests, and couldn't answer any questions about the dishes (which i as an Event Manager find absolutely unprofessional, and unorganised)

My partner an I had the vegetarian option for the evening, Our food came out cold and tasteless- no surprises there. Every other plate on the table was also left unfinished, and I think its fair to say the guests enjoyed the sugared almonds bonbonniere's more than their meals.

Wait it gets better-

The bar staff for the evening asked myself, my brother in law AND my niece repetitively if we knew a young girl in a blue dress who had been ordering glasses of champagne all night. When I asked him why his response was exactly this "Iv'e been giving her champagne, but she looks kind of young! Can you tell her to come and show me her ID, or Ill have to stop serving her" should he not have checked her ID prior to serving her alcohol.....wow.

(insert clapping hands here)

Unprofessional, unwelcoming, cant be bothered/ atmosphere, with over priced tasteless...
