I have never slammed a restaurant for their food before, I always try to comment on the issues and praise the good, but I have nothing good to say about vishals and I'm fuming that I just spent $59.60 on the second worst Indian food I have ever had... After being recommended to them by my sister, and reading the reviews, I have serious concerns for the standards of the people on the central coast after trying their food... And these guys have their food award plastered on the shop window... To the review of the food... The meat samosas pastry was the most greasy thing I have handled in my life. My whole hand glistened after I disappointedly put it down my starving gullet. The filling was under seasoned and dry and left me with a feeling of trepidation for what was to come next. The mint sauce they gave us is from a big supplier that uses green foods dye to accentuate the "minty-ness". I remember telling my wife to get the butter chicken, because I think that is a pretty good indication of the overall quality of the restaurant, but, my suspicions were correct. The chicken was not cooked in the tandoor (I dare them to challenge me on this) and the sauce was from a bulk bought, factory made, tub (challenge me in this too, I dare you) and would have left me feeling underwhelmed, if I hadn't just paid $21 for the smallest rectangular take away dish available (check the picture). I even said to my wife "for those prices, it had better be the best Indian we've ever had, if it's the medium sized tub, but if it's the small tub, I'll be super pi$$ed". And guess what?! They are the tiniest containers available, and as mentioned earlier, was the second worst Indian I've ever had. The worst was when we moved to the central coast 16 years ago, and got Indian from the local wyoming joint, and it was pan fried meat in patak's sauce ( I wish I was kidding). We also ordered the Bombay beef (medium) with coconut sauce. The meat has clearly been simmered as it was somewhat tender (some chewy pieces), but their idea of medium was a joke, didn't even bring a sweat to my brow. They gave us 4 papadums, that disappointingly, were the highlight of our dinner! (there you go, I lied. There was something good to praise...) We like to cook, and I guess that makes us fussy when we eat something that we could cook better ourselves, but that's not even an issue here. I move around a bit and try a few Indian restaurants in the suburbs I visit, and for anyone interested, Turramurra on the north shore, and Cooks Hill and Hamilton in Newcastle have Indian that would leave you speechless, if you thought this place was worthy of an award. And to Rohan, my Sri Lankan neighbour that taught me how to cook a mean curry, you and Chathu should go into business... you'd make a fortune! ... rant over... N.b. Central Coast, we...

Never ever go again
It was terrible experience at Vishal’s restaurant service and staff . We had booked the table of 16 peoples in advance more than 24 hours ago and also placed our order over the phone 3 hours ago; making sure the restaurant staff would be prepared as we were there on time as per booked time. Unfortunately restaurant was busy with other customer and online orders BUT it didn’t mean ignoring us !! After so many follow up with staff served entree after 30 min !!! Our point was if you were booked the table in advance also placed the order before 3 hours then restaurant management should be ready by timely manner !! After served the entree main food serve immediately rather than another waiting 30min !! When one of my lady friend told to staff about main food .. he was got angry that was upsetting us !! We left the restaurant without finished our dinner . It was seriously very bad experience when you drove almost 22 min from Umina to Gosford eat there because got referred by another friend. Guys if you are more than 6 peoples or big group please avoid that place as you would be disappointed like us . For food should be ok but what is the meaning of you are not getting the service in timely manners with right attitude.

Read moreI’m not one to write reviews but honestly if I could leave 0 stars I would. Woeful customer service. First order they gave me the wrong naan bread, was told I could either pick it up or had to wait 1.5 hours for it to be delivered (after already paying $7 delivery AND the rest of my meal arrived). I asked for a refund and was told they couldn’t refund by card and I would either need to come and pick up the cash refund or they could deliver the next day. They did not deliver my refund. Few months on decided to give them another chance, this time they didn’t include the papadums I ordered and paid for. Rang and was told again I could pick the papadums up or they would deliver in 1.5 hours. No refund offered this time. Chose to have the Papadums delivered knowing I didn’t get my last refund and ofcourse they were never delivered. Ontop of it, naans were cold. I acknowledge people make mistakes but they have absolutely no interest in rectifying their mistakes or in prioritising customer service. Paying for delivery is redundant if parts of the order are not there and there’s an expectation for me...
