The Hot Spot — Restaurant in Gisborne

Three times we bought 3 times they wrongly charged. First time (September last year), when I was ready to pay, I noticed wrong bill so I requested a review. Without looking at the receipt, the lady told me that I did not read menu properly. To prove that I's right, I used my phone & re-calculated in front of her. She agreed saying " Sorry, the computer did not update". So, it's no-one fault! Second time, I asked my wife to pick up. With previous experience, we had exact cash to pay for take-away stuff. Again, incorrect receipt, my wife had to point out & they told her the same " Sorry, computer's mistakes". Third time ( February 2021), we ordered here again as that Tuesday, the other nearby Fish Shop was closed. Our total bill was $51.20, but to finalize that amount, it's long way. There's $$ differences between LED menu & take-away ( paper) menu. Also they wrongly charged price of crumbed prawns & battered prawns. Same lady, she gently explained " Thank you to let us know. Take-away menu is for item reference only". Well, so why they didn't correct it to make computer price, LED menu & paper menu ONE PRICE? If they don't want to waste the printed copies, they should tell clients in prior ( before they order & the bill is printed). We accepted her refund for $ differential anyway. I hate leaving negative reviews unless for genuine reasons. This is totally deserving of the worst review ever. The whole chicken was so overcooked that even coating it in Mayonnaise didn't help it slide down my throat! The lady (assuming owner) treats her young staff like dirt! Poor young fella was serving me and he was lovely, he told me the price and she yelled out at him saying tried to correct him on the price. The first price he gave was correct and exactly what he first said! I asked if they made scallop potatoes here and she looked at me appalling as if I had no right to ask for such thing! It was a pure question. Most chicken bars sell vegetables etc! After seeing all the other negative reviews, I now sympathise with those who have had to leave negative reviews also. Worst fish & chips my family has ever had!! We used to come here, had too many wrong orders, long waits, grumpy service & awful food... thought we'd try again after 5 years...we were wrong! We paid over $91 for a few bits of cold fish, stone cold SM Dim Sims (half cooked), potato cakes (half the usual size, soggy, cold & undercooked), fish burger (they forgot to make) & minimum chips...we had to wait over an hour, after being told it was a 10-15min wait!! I questioned the price, as the total I got from their menu on the counter was $76!?!
