Bambino Ristorante — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Absolutely appalling service! Walked in, asked if they could accomodate for a table of 10 to which staff answered yes. We were the only customers in the bottom half of the restaurant, upstairs had customers but the bottom floor was empty. First, 25min went by before drinks were brought to the table to which we had to case up, then when we chased/asked staff about our drinks they had forgotten our drink order, to which they then arrived 35mins later. This was 2 glasses or wine and a beer mind you (not hard). Food was ordered the same time as drinks to which took over 1 hour for 3 pizzas, chased staff multiple times to which we were informed pizzas would be 7mins, 10 minutes went by on top of the already awaited hour… still no pizzas! Staff walked by with no interaction or concern of us not having food at our table, whilst also waiting witnessed another customer complain about the food and terrible service. After waiting over 1 hour for pizzas we told staff to pack them in take away boxes, to which the pizzas were terrible. Doughy, no flavour and the wagu pizza - well let’s just say they forgot to add the wagu!!!! Thinking we were attending an authentic Italian restaurant and also rated good stars on Google we thought the restaurant would be great, However not the case! Do not bother attending this restaurant, when Pizza Hut or Dominos can provide a better pizza for half the price! Clearly the restaurant holds too many tables for what they can handle kitchen wise! Not to mention the toilet is right next to the kitchen in which you walk past the chef’s to get to, not a good look!

Put more chefs on to handle orders…

Will not be returning, disappointing, terrible service and no authenticity - not run...

UPDATE: ENTERTAINMENT AND POPCORN LIQUOR... We did go back and it was beyond expectations! We went on a Thursday night and the two singers (Clare and Zach) were sensational. They sang a variety of songs and you could actually talk to your partner and have a conversation while listening to the songs. The volume was PERFECT! Each night they have different entertainment, including karaoke. The food was brilliant! We shared Arancini balls as entrees and you can have either a 3 serve or 4 serve if 2 of you are sharing. Hubby had the slow cooked beef cheeks and I had a pizza as the main meal. It was so light, I could even fit dessert in! Dessert was cannelloni coupled with an amazing popcorn liquor which you can only get here. I will return for the liquor alone! Thank you so much everyone at Bambino's, especially Charlie and Max...

Previously... We had the most amazing take away. We picked a chicken pizza up then ate it by the lake at HOTA. Perfect for a summer night. The pizza we had was full of mushrooms, chicken, and more. Maybe a few too many rocket leaves, but they had a lovely drizzled sauce. Can't wait to go back and try the eat in restaurant! the most amazing take away. We were travelling around the GC and wanted some nice Italian for dinner. A good search for the 'best Italian food near Surfers' yielded this place and we were very pleased that it did.

We were greeted instantly by a lovely lady and then sat in a really warm booth. The lighting was nice, the music set a perfect mood and then, out of nowhere, we had a live performer in front of us singing opera! It was so pleasant and really added to what was already a lovely night.

We ordered a bottle of wine which the waiter assisted us in choosing based on our mains (he got it right), and had a three course meal. Each course was thoughtfully presented and was substantial as well as beautifully tasty.

We both left the restaurant after chatting with the owners and chef a little after closing. It seems that this place is a bit of a family and everyone was very nice, very caring and the feeling we had is that there is a lot of love in this restaurant.

So if you are looking for some great Italian food then you really must come and try this place out; our only observation was that the restaurant externally does not look like it would produce the quality of food and service as it does.
