I have been eating at Burgster for a long time, both eat-in and takeaway. While the food is good, or rather has the potential to be good, it suffers from what seems to be poor organisation in the kitchen and or front of house. This is particularly apparent when getting takeaway.
My experience eating-in has been generally good. It can take longer than expected to get your food and that’s fine in a busy place, however when ordering takeaway, you’d best be prepared for a frustrating experience.
I’ll share two different experiences (of many) at each end of the spectrum. One that took far longer than we were told and the other that was ready much earlier.
We were told our order would be ready in 40 minutes and arrived to pick it up a minute or two before it should have been ready. We were told it wasn’t ready and would be another 5-10 minutes. That would have been totally fine, but after going back into the restaurant to get our food, it still wasn’t ready. Ok, so it’s going to be another 10 minutes. We go in again 10 minutes later, it’s still not ready but a staff member says he’ll bring it out when it’s done (we were waiting in the car). Unfortunately after waiting another 20+ minutes we go back in to see what’s going on and there’s our order sitting there behind the bar. The staff member who said he’d bring it out had forgotten to do so!
For our most recent experience, we were quoted a 25 minute wait time. We arrived a minute or two late. When I say a minute or two I really do mean a minute or two. Anyway, as we were getting out of the car they called to say our order was ready, which was odd as we were only just late and they’d never called before. When we arrived home and opened up the order, it had clearly been ready far earlier than we were told. The food was cold. The chips were undercooked, and burgers were sloppy.
I want to say that Burgster at it’s best is really good, and well worth the money. However for takeaway it’s too inconsistent and when you’re paying those prices, I think consistency is the least you can ask for.
I’d also like to mention I’m not posting this review to simply shred them. I really do like eating their food and have had some great burgers. But I’ve had too many experiences like the two mentioned above and hope this helps them to get there systems sorted and the times they quote over the phone at least close to reality. I’ll say it’s far better to be waiting for the food than the food...

Incredible. Honestly I was starving so I gave it a bit of a range here with this selection.
Got both burgers on gluten free buns and Ross raised the stakes by informing me the gluten free coating for the chicken was OK too if I wanted it. That wasn't just OK, it was brilliant. Thanks Ross.
Honestly the burnt brocolli was one of the finest I have had anywhere. If you want to encourage your children to eat greens, go and beg the chef for the recipe because it is truly divine.
No offence to the Eggplant, but it is one of the outright most boring vegetables out there, however goodness me they absolutely nailed it without making it overbearing. You DO NOT even need the supplied relish.
Finally the burgers themselves were exceptional; full of flavour, perfect sizes, filling and engaging (don't ask me how but it's an acquired personality)
The team were awesome, fun, helpful and laid back. Honestly well worth a visit. Thanks...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in we felt the warm, friendly, atmosphere as the waitress greeted and seated us. The service was phenomenal, you could tell our waitress Layah genuinely cared about our dining experience and she answered every one of our annoying little questions and queries with a bubbly smile. The menu was refreshingly bold, I had the Fried chicken burger with grilled pear, I was amused at the idea of fruit in a burger so I ordered it and I was pleasantly surprised, the pear permeated a little sweetness within the savoury flavours, I would recommend pairing the burger with fruity beer like Stone & Wood Pacific Ale, all though they do have a selection of Soda made from scratch and my sister ordered the Macchiato Milk Shake which was absolutely delicious.
So overall excellent food and great service with a smile, my only regret was not being able to try everything...
