For that old school fish and chip shop, you can't really go past Charlie de cod. Felt like stepping back in time, and yep, even the prices. $18 for a Fisherman's Basket that is fully loaded with the deep fried seafood goodness you'd ever want. Sure, it's not the worlda greatest fish and chips, but for $18 in this day and age, it absolutely does a great job. It's a really good crumb on all the seafood. It's a great batter on the potato scallops, and the fries with chicken salt hit the mark. And for deep fried food, not as oily as one would think. All in all, it's a decent fisho, which I'll happily support whenever I feel like Fish n Chips

Simple fish and chips shop in Southport. If you're looking for an easy fish and chips, burger or hot food for the family this is the perfect place. Service was fast, milkshake was yummy and the burger was simple. I asked for extra salads on my fish burger and it was a little dry so I added my tomato sauce at home. Nice and cheap.

Wow and wow went to the local spa to get Burger buns to make a tasty burger at home after having a long week at work and they ran out these guys where across the road went in to get pineapple fritters and asked kindly to pay to buy a burger bun when you on a Mission to make something that will make you happy after a long week and I take it the owner/ manger gave me a buns and only charged me for the fritters this made my night such a wonderful service and a kind thing to do in the past I have brought on a many occasions my fish and chips and they’re amazing pineapple fritters and being a kiwi we are fussy on and fish and chips lol as a local this place I’m blessed to have such a amazing fish and chip shop with a wonderful service very warm and welcoming you have a...

Those who had been regular customers of this shop before it changed the ownership few months ago will be able to tell the quality, the quantity and the value of its food, services have gone down significantly from 5★ to 2★ or even 1★. The previous owner is a Vietnamese family who has moved to Ipswich to open a similar business (they are rated 5★ there as they were when they were here). But now the new owner is a Chinese family who does business in Chinese style which is cutting things down in quantity and quality, don't speak much English, not much about customer services and maybe they don't even care how many stars you give them. They do what they want and no one should make comments. I think they may later turn this fish and chip shop into a Chinese...

We ordered 3 x snapper, 6 x prawn cutlets and $7 worth of chips.

We ordered 2 x grilled fish and 1 x crumbed fish. We received 3 x grilled.

The snapper was way overcooked. The fillets were hard and like rubber. The prawns and the chips were overcooked too.

Very disappointing. When you pay $62, you expect fresh seafood to be cooked, and the seafood to be succulent and melt in your mouth, not frozen!

On the upside, the choc malt thickshake was well made and delicious.

We have been coming here for years and it has always been fantastic.

New owners have taken over and it is not the same. Not as friendly and as welcoming either, which is a shame.
