Unless you have photos of the ACTUAL apartment you are booking DO NOT book here.||||Whilst securing a rental property during an interstate move, we booked a two bed/bath apartment for two weeks at Bluewaters on Marine Parade in Labrador. We have very quickly learnt that it’s common for holiday apartments on the Gold Coast to be privately owned which means it’s ‘pot luck’ whether the apartment you are allocated is up to scratch. I suspect the Strata use photos from the better maintained apartments. This would explain why the reviews are mixed.||||Please see the photos attached for examples of the standard of repair and cleanliness we arrived to. I cannot honestly believe that this apartment is being leased in its current state. The fridge, oven, aircon and pedestal fan are WAY past their sell by date. There was a single aircon unit in the main living area (with a not so pleasant noise when operating). There are no ceiling fans at all and no extractor fans or windows in the bathrooms. One of the two pedestal fans supplied was older than me and could not oscillate. The oven is an old, actually ancient, element based unit and not effective for cooking. The fridge is small, missing shelves, rusty, unstable. The kitchen is stocked with a complete hodge podge of items and missing key things like a spatula, serving spoons, ice tray. The broom was disgusting with the added touch of toilet paper used to secure the handle into the broom head. There was no mop/bucket despite 80% of the floor being tiled nor a laundry basket. We requested a bath in the apartment as we have two little ones. There was a bath but no plug to fit. After presenting us with about 5 that didn’t fit, one was purchased for us.||There were holes and damage to walls and doors, mould in the window frames and thick layers of dust on light fittings and pedestal fans. I removed the fronts and washed them but I couldn’t do anything about the backs, so options for the bedrooms were dust laden air circulation or none. Did I mention that none of the curtains fitted? So much so that we relocated one curtain from the lounge to the main bedroom so it was dark enough for sleep (lots of light outside the bedroom).||||On the positives the location is great for kids - several waterfront parks and playgrounds, and the Broadwaters are a short drive. The pool area at Bluewaters is pleasant, reasonably maintained (although some of the furniture has seen better days). They also had a blow up kids slide which was a nice touch. Service was inconsistent and only available if someone was on site. The weekly refresh of linen consisted of us arriving back to a pile of fresh linen and a laundry bag for our dirty items - so they didn’t even change the beds.||||I am not surprised now that the terms of the rental included no refunds if a stay is terminated early. We would have cancelled after 24hrs otherwise. We’re super disappointed with this accommodation. You can get far superior quality at the same price so would recommend you...

PROS: This fantastic apartment comes with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, medium size lounge, dining and kitchen area. There is also a washing machine and dryer in one of the bathrooms. The apartment came with all the usual amenities. There was also two balconies, one at the front of our apartment and one at the back.
PRICE: Amazing price for a 2 bedroom apartment (approximately $65 a night). We stayed 7 nights (13a).
SECURITY: Great security.
PARKING: On-site parking available. You will be given your own parking space for the duration of your holiday.
LOCATION: We found the location of the apartment in Labrador to be excellent. We were in fantastic distance to all the theme parks and amenities.
CONS: There aren't too many negative aspects (and I wouldn't necessarily call them negatives):
FLOORING: The flooring in the lounge room and dining area is tiled. There is no carpet except for the 2 bedrooms. If you have any babies that are currently crawling be very careful they do not topple over and hit their head on the very hard tiles. My 10 month old daughter did this quite often so we had to relocate her into one of the bedrooms to crawl around.
GLASS: The dining room table, coffee table and side table situated in the living area are made out of tempered glass. This occasionally caused some problems with our 3 and a half year old son who would slam objects onto the glass tops. We had to cover them with a cushioned doona to protect my son and the glass.
INTERNET: I am with Telstra and still had very very very bad reception in our apartment. They do offer wireless broadband but not too sure about the costs.
OUR NEIGHBOURS: Unfortunately our neighbours across the hall smoked in their apartment and the smell wofted in to our apartment. It was very unpleasant for myself and for my children.
SOUND: Seeing as there was no carpeting in the lounge area any sound that was made, was amplified and could be heard in the bedrooms.
At the end of our stay we did leave a couple of items in the apartment which we hoped would be of good use to management or the next tenants (toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, clothes detergent).
We also left some food products which were unopened and we didn't want to throw them away just in case they could be used by management.
In conclusion, my family and I had a wonderful time in the apartment and hope to stay there again on our...
Read moreMy friends and I stayed here over the weekend to celebrate some personal achievements and take a break from our normal lives for a while. We had one of the apartments on the top floor, and I can easily say that we were all happy with what we got. There was a nice view of the pool area from the living room, the apartment was spacious and homey. There's a full kitchen for home-cooked meals, a large dining table, and a nice little balcony with a small table. WiFi and a TV with streaming services.
There were a few minor issues we had, but nothing out of the ordinary for cheap accommodation. The mattresses on the beds were quite firm, it was slightly uncomfortable but we were able to sleep just fine. The couches in the living room are quite small and a bit uncomfortable. There were no windows in either of the two bathrooms in our apartment, and also the extractor fans did not work in either of them, so showering or using the toilet was unpleasant. There was only 1 power outlet in the second bedroom and it was hidden behind one of the beds, the only way to access this was by rearranging the beds. However, there were ample power outlets in the other bedroom and around the apartment. The kitchen comes stocked with cutlery, plates, bowls, a cooking pot, a saucepan and other useful utensils, but there was only one tiny packet of dish soap provided. There is also a washing machine and dryer in the main bathroom, but only one small packet of laundry liquid provided. It took us a while to get used to how the door handles and locks worked, but once we were used to it there were no issues.
Although the driveway to get into the underground parking garage looks daunting, I drive a lowered car and was able to drive in and out without any issues (there is a speed bump, but there's room to go around it).
Overall, my friends and I were quite happy without experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would like to thank the team at Blue Waters Apartments for making this possible for us. If you're looking for something cheap but still decent, I...
