i like the tavern the relaxed atmosphere , but i work late on saturdays til 9pm, so we regularly go there, but i think its not right that they advertise that they are open til midnight and we were there for an hour and was told last drinks at 10pm and we went to gaming room and again were told they were turning off the machines at 10.30 , not good especially when were winning , so what if they say open til 12pm stay open til then, we were told because there was not many people there closing early , and this was not the first time either ,come on there were other people heading there from the restaurants to have last drinks , so i think they can leave one person on til close cause i would of bought more drinks as well as the others heading there , as we live close and can walk there and now was over the limit unable to drive any where else, where else are locals meant to go within buggy or walking distance at least give the locals some where to go til midnight its saturday but any how will stil go, but at least worn people of early close ,cause i thought great we have til 12 which is late enough for the cove but 10.30 a bit early what and where are we living in a retirement resort , no where else we go close before closing time because of lack of poeple, so what do they call lack of people there was us and another couple there and were told to leave , my question is how many people have to be there to not close early its all about service to keep patronage and there at the cove they need to keep it alive ,so honour the locals stay open til 12 like u advertise and at the end of the day i would of spent another $100 on drinks in those couple of hours so that pays for for a persons hourly rate til close ,so if the tavern is reading this think about it , no other taverns close because of lack of people and who is to say others would not arrive from one minute to another , honour your 12pm close and people will come rather than wonder how much time they have , not knowing from one minute to another if your told to leave , cause i thought i could relax til at least close but no had to go home ,walking and was unable to go anywhere else signed ...
Read moreWe have been going to this tavern for 4 years. They have updated the menu. We could not believe the abysmal level that it has gone too with the food. We rated this tavern previously as a go to lunch, but not anymore. The fish lunch ( seniors) was appalling . I would have been embarrassed to have put it on the table. I have rated it a 2 only due to the ambience and the fact that you purchase a bottle of wine from the bottle shop, charged a corkage fee, which is very reasonable. We eat out 3 times a week, but this location is now off our lunch locations. Why change a good thing? Very disappointed, After 12 months we again returned, but again the fish & chips had no salad, yes the parmigiana did as did other , but not the fish & chips. Whoever deleted the salad needs to be sacked. You are loosing regular customers, it is not a fish & chip shop, but a tavern where customers expect a decent meal with trimmings. We are only one customer who usually visited on a monthly basis.spend around $80, so they loose close to $1000 PA. We again will not go back for another 12 months. This is over $1.50 worth of salad. As with everything else the fish & chips with salad was $22, now without salad $28. We were previously disappointed , now this verges...
Read moreWhat an amazing tavern , live music and the biggest and best wine selection with a boutique bottle shop attached where you buy a bottle of your liking and pay a $7 corkage , so always guarantees you get a fantastic bottle of wine for your price point. Food is 4 star and fair for the area and have never had a bad meal here . The staff are very friendly , there is a sports bar attached and lots of outdoor seating with covered tables to enjoy the view and the live music on weekends. I bought a bottle of NZ wine there for $37 including corkage that they sell in red steak house for $95 , when you buy your wine they give you a ticket and you take it to the bar and they give you a huge ice bucket and as many wine glasses as you need. Beers are standard price $9 a schooner and a huge...
