Domanis Cafe Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Couple of things.. service definately needs to improve!!! Made a booking a week ago and specified where we would like to be seated and despite this the waitress was going to sit us at the worst table in the restaurant. When I pointed to the vacant table where we could sit and probably would have been reserved for us on thd 1st place!! The waitress said i need to check whether it is booked and went away and never came back. After sdandinv around looking foolish, I noticed Kimberley standing at the entrance area for checking in. I went over to her and explained that I had made a specific booking over a week before and was not going to sit at the worst table in the restaurant. So I pointed to the table I would like to sit at and her answer was "of course you can". From then on Kimberley did serve us including checking with the chef for answers to questions. Please employ more staff like Kimberley and the guy with the black T-shirt. NB If not for both of these staff, patrons would simply walk away out of pure frustratio and not bother coming back. This was our 4 visit to God restaurant jn 5 weeks basically because of the service from the guy with the black tee shirt.. umm has name escapes me.

Bruscetta.. I would NEVER ever order again.. overpriced with lack of ingredients and moreso lack of taste. 3 tiny pieces of bread. And microscopic ingredients and definitely NO avocado ????Taste.. I had to put masses of salt on to even try and eat this dish. Ummm rating 0.5/10 (worst bruscetta I have ever had)

However Saltimboca Chicken and Fish of the Day .. yummy.

Steamed vegetables.. if the chef put a dot of butter and squeeze of lemon..and seasonjng, the dish would be outstanding..but was presented steam vegetables boring look and boring by taste.. I had to ask for salt and a piece of lemon to make these tasty and acceptable to the tastebuds!!!!

Drinks.. wines and beers.. good choice. Will attempt to try the Trivia...

Me and my boyfriend tried out Domani’s one lunch time on our holidays. The thing that drew us in was actually the half price menu, it was amazing value especially for main beach which we found to be pretty expensive.

I didn’t know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the food incredible but the staff were friendly and fast and to top it off the atmosphere there was great there too, we had a lovely lazy and afternoon lunch people watching on Tedder Ave.

In fact we loved it so much that we actually ended up going back there for our evening meal which we loved and we had a much more sophisticated sit down meal which I personally prefer for my evening meal.

I have to say that one of things I miss the most from our holiday is actually Domani’s, I just adored the atmosphere, having a drink at the tapas bar and the food! Oh the food! I think in total we ended up eating here about 5 or 6 times in the end, its became a personal joke, ‘Where shall we go to eat then?’ ‘ I dunno shall we try Domani’s?’

I really can’t recommend this place enough, if your going to main beach make sure you check out Domani’s and when you do be sure to try the twice roasted crispy skin duck with baked vegetables ratatouille and honest glazed baby carrots, yes it really is as amazing...

Ok let's start with all the positives... Bear in mind I have only been here once, personally I don't think I would go there again but in having said that. Domain's was packed and seamed like a popular spot. (maybe as a pub)

The staff (and it was appreciated) very friendly proffessional and made one feel right at home. The atmosphere was alive with people enjoying a peaceful pleasant late afternoon drink, and the live entertainment in the background was enjoyable.

The food: for starters we ordered a Garlic three cheese pizza bread..... After emptying half a salt shaker and quarter of the pepper shaker we actually managed to get some taste out of it. The Garlic pizza bread was tasteless otherwise.

For mains Gloria had pasta with a Bolognese sauce in her words it could have done with more sauce it was pretty dry but she said it was tasty..

I had the Beef Tortellini beautifully presented, But tasteless fortunately there was still half a salt shaker left and enough pepper, To give it a dash of flavor...

All in all a very nice lively pub like atmosphere as for a restaurant I think the food needs just a little more...
