Hot Shott is a corner side cafe bubbling with modern charm. Visited by many demographics to enjoy coffee and brunch. They boast their signature fries on their menu - rosemary, parmesan and truffle oil. Whatever place boasts fries straight away is an instant win in my books.

Hot Shott shows us a mix of modern and industrial themes in its decor. Pinterest worthy dangling lightbulbs, plants a plenty to steal a millennial's heart. We thought this mixmash of rustic and industrial was an interesting look, but not a cohesive one. The servingware is nice. Plenty of seating for small and large groups. The seating could have been a little comfier - they did not invite a long stay.

We were immediately and pleasantly greeted as we looked over the menu out front. We were invited in and given menus as well as the now standard Covid QR code check in. Our food came quickly and after we finished went to the counter to pay. Everyone we spoke to was lovely and gave us a smile. Really well taken care of and lovely overall manner from the staff.

Free water was provided to us as soon as we sat. We ordered a chai latte and the chips with rosemary, parmesan and truffle oil. The chai latte tasted more like cinnamon than chai. It's really hard to find something that is actually chai rather than a powdered cinnamon mixed in milk. It was cold which was nice and they had lactose free available as well which is always a plus. We really enjoyed our chips and they definitely were delicious. I would note that a little extra aioli would go a long way, especially as two of us were sharing the chips. Overall, nice but not outstanding.

As a boutique cafe, you can expect to pay a little higher than your standard chippy. For the serve of chips and the latte we paid $15. For the serving size, this seemed a little steep but not a deal-breaker. One could probably expect to pay between $20-$50 here for a couple depending on the order.
Hot Shott was a spontaneous visit on our way walking through the area to the beach. It was nice and pleasant, the highlight was definitely the chips and the wonderful service. Thank you for having us. We hope to stop...
Read moreHotshot has quickly become one of those spots I just keep coming back to—and for good reason. It’s got that perfect mix of cozy and cool, with a relaxed atmosphere that’s welcoming for everyone, whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee, catching up with friends, or bringing the whole family along.
The coffee is top-notch, but the menu goes way beyond that. From refreshing cold-pressed juices to vibrant açaí bowls and plenty of tasty food options, there’s something for every craving. Whether you’re into healthy bites, a hearty brunch, or just a snack on the go, the variety is seriously great.
It’s also super family-friendly (dogs are welcome too). There’s space to sit and unwind, the vibe is never too loud or too quiet, and the staff are always kind and helpful—even when it’s busy. And speaking of busy, their service is quick and efficient. Whether you’re dining in or ordering for takeaway, everything arrives fresh, fast, and exactly how I want it (they’re great with allergies and customising items).

This place has really good coffee and food is pretty decent.
For my family of 3 we got 2 dishes to share for our breakfast. It was 9am on a Wednesday morning and it's got a decent crowd. Easy to get seats.
Dishes: Long black, mocha, hazelnut latte Smokin Avo Bagel Board
The smokin Avo came with a glass bell cover, the dish is smoked, and there's a hint of smokiness to the dish, but I would have liked more of it. The good serving of smashed avo with their toasted/grilled sourdough was absolutely stunning. The avos are just so creamyyy.
The bagel Board is the star dish. You could add a third bagel for $3.50 but we didn't think we could finish it. So we left it at 2. There was a rye and a sesame bagel. Eggs, onion, tomatoes, capers, smoked salmon, ham, cream cheese, sliced cheese, sliced avocados...there was just so much going on the board, I couldnt decide what to eat with my bagel. Bagels are great so are the dishes. Would not disappoint from ordering this.
Would come here again if I were to come back to gold coast....
