The first time we went to this restaurant, we are locals. I was with my family it was 6pm the waitress came over and told us, no octopus and no rose wine! There are two bottle shops in the street. Could they not get some rose wine? Why are they out of octopus? it’s 6pm. Needless to say we had not been back for a year or so. Than we were invited to a birthday party, it was a set menu and it was great. That was a 4 months ago! A week ago our friends suggested we go to lunch at Xenia, it was on a Monday 12pm. The waitress came over to the four of us and said I just need to let you know there is: No Octopus No Greek Salad No Potatoes No Chicken Skewers No Prawns If we weren’t dining with our friends, my husband and I would of left. I did feel sorry for the waitress as it’s not really her fault. I have kids who go to uni full time and work part time in the hospitality industry. We did feel for her, with her piece of paper having to go to every table that turned up for lunch to say we have 5 things unavailable. It’s just a joke! A Greek restaurant that has no Greek salad or Octopus for lunch. I have been told by some locals the restaurant doesn’t cook anything on site which makes sense. As a Greek salad is very simple to make. Needless to say, we won’t be back. We had a great time with our friends still. We ended up ordering calamari which was average, ordered a lamb shoulder but ended up cancelling it, we mainly ate the dips and drank rose and had another type of salad and a chicken salad. Our friend still tipped the waitress $50. Not good enough, Xenia on Tedder...

I had a bit of trouble getting my 20month old ready and were 12 minutes late getting to restaurant. Still within the 15 minute time limit that they have on their booking form.
As soon as I walked up I started to apologize and tried to explain that I was sorry but we were here. The man at the podium out the front snapped at me and said “well we are going to give your table away. I have rung you and you didn’t answer and it’s passed the time”
I looked to my partner to ask if it was 6:00pm already. The man at the podium said.”well no it’s actually 2 minutes to 6:00pm so uh…. Yes your table.”
He then told me how I needed to try and get there on time and I needed to be gone at 7:45pm and I couldn’t stay any longer.
I am truly sorry that we were late and I did apologize and I will in this review apologize again. But I was made to feel like a villain for eating and when he came back over to take out order I almost got up and left because he made the mood at our table to sour. Thankfully someone else came.
The food was fantastic and the servers were really nice. I just don’t think I will eat there again. I don’t like being chastised … I did try my best. And I did apologize. I just felt so guilty and like a burden the whole time. Constantly checking my watch so we hurried and left so I didn’t get...
Read moreWe have been to Xenia a few times over the last year but last nights experience was disappointing. We ordered the banquet for $72 ph. Here’s are the things that weren’t up to scratch and per our previous dining experiences there. The eggplant dip was runny, the lamb was fatty and chewy and not the usual slow cooked, melt like butter, tender meat. The calamari wasn’t its usual crispy self. The saganaki was lacking in flavour. The lemon potatoes were reheated and not fresh. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The hostess with dreadlocks spent her entire time leaning at the bar looking at her phone as she ordered the staff around. Not a good look. I’m Greek and I didn’t see a single Greek working there. In particular in the kitchen. The post mix also needed to be swapped over. So sad how such a lovely Greek and authentic restaurant has slipped so much. We used to recommend Xenia to all of our family and friends. Not anymore, sadly. I really hope you lift your game and get it back to how it used to be. My husband and I paid $170 for a very...
