Q: What’s the vibe & setting like at Franc Jrs Nobbys? Franc Jrs is styled like a cozy, old-school pizzeria with vintage flair wooden panelling, funky artwork, leather booths and warm lighting that gives it personality. It’s mostly intended as a takeaway spot, with limited seating, so don’t expect an attentive full table service - most of the staff we saw were packing and packing boxes for takeaway.
Q: How did your food order go? We had a mixed experience. The vegan pizza was decent and I appreciated the effort, but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. My partner ordered the TikTok-famous Detroit / Sicilian square style pizza and felt the quality was lacking and toppings didn’t quite measure up to expectations. We also went with our 1yo child and found the place was not child friendly at all - no child chairs and the chaos inside can be quite overwhelming too for little ones.
Q: Any particular highlights or dishes that stood out? Not exactly in this visit, though Franc Jrs is well known for its Detroit / Sicilian square pizzas and creative topping combinations we found the quality was quite poor for the rave they get. It came out with burnt pieces and overall taste sadly wasn't right.
Q: How about clarity on dietary options / labeling? This is one area they could improve. It wasn’t clear which pizzas were dairy-free or whether substitutions (like dairy-free cheese) were standard. For people with dietary needs or preferences, better labeling or optional swaps would make the experience more comfortable.
Q: Would you recommend Franc Jrs Nobbys / go back? If you’re in the area and craving pizza, Franc Jrs is an okay choice, especially for the vibe and menu variety. But go in with tempered expectations: some items may fall short of hype. If you have to travel almost 2h return for it like we did, I wouldn't say pick somewhere else to spend your money. However I believe that with improved clarity on dietary options and consistency in quality and not burnt food, it could easily better.

Read moreLoved the pizza however the service & attitude of the waitstaff is abhorrent. Some Maitre D hipster bloke "swanning" around like he's King Tut deciding if your worthy or not of dining in this prestige establishment, alongside one waitress in particular who literally threw the menus on the table and told us we have 1 hour to eat as "its busy tonight". Fair enough if you could get the damn food out in 15-20mins, but the food took over 40 minutes to arrive after it took them 10 minutes to get our order. You can do the math LOL. Just makes them look dumb. As mentioned, loved the food albeit a rushed eat with the waitstaff hovering around to clear plates immediately after finishing. This is the 2nd time this has happened and whilst i never normally write reviews and vote with my wallet, i felt this needed to be said. Its the 'cool' place currently, but with service like that, hopefully someone will come along and simply do it better. I'm sure the weekend dining time will be extended to 1.5-2 hrs soon enough once the shine wears off. Won't be back, will go...
Read moreFirstly (and the only understandable but annoying/negative part) hats off to the quality control this place has - no delivery! Assuming so the food quality doesn’t diminish.. would hurt their bottom line, but boy do I respect it!! Ok look, I’m a pretty harsh marker - especially when it comes to Pizza, as it’s my favorite food and I’ve sampled MANY from around the globe. When I say this place is the best in the world, itdoesn’t do just how GOOD the Detroit 8”x10” is justice. The orange stripe - holy shit. This thing slaps harder than Damien Dibbell! Deep dish without being too thick and deep, chewy without feeling fatty and oily, the crust is crunchy without any feeling like it’s over cooked or too thin. I’ve been here 3-4 times and every SINGLE time I have a food orgasm. Do yourself a favor and try this place - if I could give them more...
