Unfortunately I had to update my rating. The first time we went here we did enjoy the pizza so tonight we decided to venture back. This will be the last time any of our friends and family will ever go here.
Firstly, we started with calamari and for $18 you get some frozen rings from the supermarket. Not a great start for an italian restaurant on the coast with access to fresh seafood; however we ate it and didn't say anything.
We then ordered the same pizza as we enjoyed last time and merely requested (as we did last time) if we may have their white cream sauce as the pizza base instead of the tomato sauce as we enjoy the creamy garlic sauce. The waitress looked at us disgustingly but said she'd ask the kitchen. They said they would do it for $5. There was no charge last time but we said okay.
The pizza came out an hour later and we were hungry so we just started eating it. It was a completely different pizza, not even close to what was on the menu. The only ingredient that was the same was the cheese. The waitress never checked on us but when we were almost done we just mentioned to her that the pizza wasn't the one we ordered. We were happy to pay for it though but were too hungry to wait for a new one. Instead of apologising for the mistake she said "That's your fault, its too hard what you requested." We simply asked for a different sauce, no other changes. We asked for her to removed the $5 charge from our bill. She refused and said the owner says you're going to pay it. We asked to speak to the owner and she said that the owner wasn't there, clearly lying and continuing to be rude.
While we waited for the bill 2 champagne glasses came to our table. We assumed it was "complements of the chef" but checked with our waitress before drinking them. She rolled her eyes, grabbed them and gave them to the table next to us (where they were supposed to go.)
When we went to pay she charged us for everything. We considered walking out but we are honest people. We discussed the situation with the manager who came over and you'd think you'd appreciate returning guests who are honest and notify you of mistakes like giving us champagne instead of drinking it. I just couldn't believe the new lows of customer service I experienced here. The staff need to be trained. It is not ok to treat anyone the way they treated us, let alone a paying customer.
I would also like to note that both of us have worked in the hospitality industry for many years so we understand stress and difficult customers and we were extremely reasonable, all that needed to happen is "I'm sorry for the mix-up, is there anything else I can grab you." We would have said no thank you and it would have been done...
Read moreDidnt even get the chance to try the food. The customer service is less then zero... this was the following situation... Myself and family went out for dinner at a restaurant down the street, no dessert really appealed to us, so we decided to go for a stroll to see what was avaliable. Romanas italian had a street sign with the following: "italian homemade ice cream and gelato" We asked a waiter(older gentleman) for a table for dessert ( mind you half the restaurant empty and being 9pm...) His response was, 'you want a table to eat a $3 ice cream when you have given your business to someone else'? This is absolutely disgusting saying to a potential customer... Said that we decided to sit down and the harrasment continues, with the following saracastic tone " would you like some water on the house?". He made our entire group extremely unconfortable. When he presented the menus he said again in a agressive tone "next time come for dinner and not just for dessert" we decided that this behaviour was unacceptable and we left. He then continued to yell at one of the females in our group 'ciao bella!' VERY passive agressively as we walked down the street. Please dont dine here, plenty of other restaurants...
Read moreWould not recommend going to this restaurant as I had to be waited to be seated and ask someone if we could get a table. Once we were seated after 10 minutes I had to ask somebody for a menu, 10 minutes later I walked up to the counter to order and they said someone will come to us, another 10 minutes later they finally came to take our order. 10 minutes in we got our entree's and then we waited 50 minutes later I then asked about our mains as my children were getting hungry and tied and that we saw two tables being served before us with similar meals. They went away and then came back and said your pizzas are what is holding up the process of our order when I saw one of the tables that was seated 1/2 hr after us had their pizza's. After they told us this they said they would give decent discount. 20 minutes later we got our food, I thought finally my kids a and we can eat but in the end the food was very bland and because it took over an hour to get our food our children were tied and didn't eat. So we hurried to eat our food and payed for our meal but when it came time to pay they didn't warrant the discount and we had to pay the full price. Not happy at all and I'm not one normally...
