Too good NOT to go back again and again! We were over celebrating a few birthdays, hailing from Adelaide. We went there for a boys night out and were blown away by the friendly service and the beautiful atmosphere. The pizza was just next level. Elegant toppings to match an equally exquisite handmade dough.
You can tell by the delicate yet robust flavor matching, the light, perfectly balanced base and crust that much time, care, love and research has been put into making the PERFECT pizza.
The night was so good, that we booked again, for 15 people this time, for the last meal we would eat on the GC for that trip.
Often the sequel never lives up to the original, this was not the case, some how this amazing husband and wife couple lifted the bar even higher. With an amazing live vocalist, who had the voice of an angel, serenading our meal, the pizzas came out and kept coming. Nothing was too hard or too much. Stickers and colouring in for kids, and special cookies. The attentive servers never missed a beat.
The 9 layer honey cake, made by the masterful hands of the Lady of the House, was a perfect finale to what was an amazing night. The beauty of the pizza is it never leaves you feeling bloated or overly full, but perfectly content.

Staff 👨🏻🍳: The right amount of welcoming and attentiveness without overdoing it. Our waitress provided us with excellent wine pairings to help elevate the entire experience and the owner took the time to check in on us to make sure everything was up to par.
Pizza 🍕: Excellent! The dough was light and the ratio of cheese to tomato sauce was just the right amount as not to overpower everything else. I was able to eat almost an entire pizza without feeling bloated, heavy or in pain… what more could you ask for! My friend got A Silvio and the pairing of salty anchovies with fresh, soft mozzarella was like nothing I had ever tasted before. That was my first time trying anchovies and I absolutely LOVED that dish! I ordered Sud-Tyrol - the simple combination of prosciutto and mushrooms never disappoints and I can honestly say they hit the mark with this one as well (no surprise there).
Dessert 🍰: Words cannot express how much I enjoyed the tiramisu. I’ve never been much of a tiramisu gal but wow, just wow… see the video if you want your mouth to water for the rest of the week.

Read moreWell here we go again… It’s Sunday, 5:30pm. The missus is giving me that look and the kids are about one “I’m bored” away from sending me off the deep end. So what does a bloke do? Easy—pizza. Can’t go wrong.
We decided to give somewhere new a crack—Freghete Authentic Pizza in Broadbeach Waters. Never heard of it before, didn’t expect much. But bloody hell… what a surprise.
Proper pizza, none of that soggy chain-store rubbish. Crispy base, fresh toppings, flavours that actually punch you in the taste buds. I had a slice and suddenly forgot the dog chewed my thongs this morning. It’s that good.
And get this—the kids were zooming up and down the footpath on their scooters like it was the Indy 500. No complaints, no meltdowns, just happy little terrors burning energy while I actually enjoyed a meal. That alone gets five stars from me.
Place has that real local vibe—bet the regulars are spewin’ I’m even mentioning it. They’d probably rather keep this joint under wraps.
Anyway, if you’re sick of being disappointed and want pizza done right, give Freghete a go. Just don’t tell too many people… we don’t want the Gold Coast mob ruining it.
Highly recommended—and that’s not something I say lightly.
