Go to this cafe if u want horrified food and want to waste money!!! My family came here Saturday just gone. Wow what a terrible expensive experience! Not busy at all but everything was on a go slow. We all order then to be told after order there is no more hash browns and could swap for Halloumi cheese. Waited and waited then for food from different order to be brought out while others are waiting. Bacon was harder than concrete and everything else we’ll over done. No responsibility was taken and the attitude from staff was they can’t be bothered. Unsure how this cafe runs as they can’t do basics first order in, first to go out. Wast of money!

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate that you acknowledged the situation and made efforts to address it on the day, including the partial refund and the offer to remake a meal.

However, I’d like to clarify a few things from our side. We were not informed before or during our visit that there was a training chef on shift this only came up after we raised concerns due to the long wait and issues with the food. Had we known earlier, we likely would have made the decision to go elsewhere, especially with a group of 10 people, to avoid a disappointing experience.

While you did offer to remake one meal, that came after we had already waited more than 40 minutes. The remake of that single dish then took an additional 15–20 minutes to arrive. Given the size of our group, the inconvenience it would have caused your team to remake everything and the likelihood it would take another 30 minutes or more meant that wasn’t a realistic option. Everyone was hungry, and several of us chose to eat our meals despite them being overcooked or not up to standard.

Although a refund was provided, it only covered two meals, even though the whole table was affected. My review wasn’t meant to be harsh or unfair it was simply an honest reflection of our experience, including the service, food quality, and communication. I do understand that mistakes happen and recognise your efforts to resolve things at the time, but unfortunately the overall experience still fell short. For us, it was an expensive disappointment.

From start to finish, our experience at Banksy Bar & Kitchen was fabulous: The cocktails were brilliantly balanced and beautifully presented, and the charcuterie board was a true celebration of quality and taste — an exquisite selection of cheeses and cured meats. I was especially impressed that even the crackers were distinctive and artisanal, rather than the typical plain variety one might expect.

The highlight of the evening, however, was the Prawn & Burnt Butter Sage Gnocchi. To be candid, gnocchi is rarely my first choice, yet after being so delighted by the cocktails and charcuterie, I felt compelled to give it a try. What a revelation it turned out to be! These were, quite sincerely, among the finest gnocchi I have had in a long time (and I say this as someone from Europe, where expectations for pasta & co. are naturally high). Perfectly prepared, elegantly flavoured, and utterly satisfying.

Our evening was made all the more enjoyable thanks to the warm and attentive team. Special thanks to Alex, who generously shared with us the philosophy and vision behind Banksy. This thoughtful conversation, combined with the superb kitchen and mixology, has convinced us to return very soon.
