Costa Taco Broadbeach — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Here is my honest raw review. We are so disappointed. My friend and I came to get dinner from your restaurant, drove all the way from Brisbane as we love your food. We had placed our order and were waiting outside for it to be ready, other individuals were waiting as well for their food. A staff member walks out with our food and my friend is walking over to her and before she could even clarify the name, she had given it to another lady and didn’t even check her receipt to make sure it was the right persons food. We were in disbelief and went inside to find out what had happened, the staff member who had served her couldn’t even give an answer on how to rectify the situation and was not very polite to my friend regarding what had happened which is so disappointing after we had waited 25 minutes for our food. She was wearing a grey shirt with denim shorts, a claw clip in her hair and the time frame was around 6:45-8pm - She had brown hair and was slim built - she was extremely rude and had a disgusting behaviour. She was not nice and honestly was so uninterested in the whole issue WHEN SHE WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE OUR ORDER TO THE WRONG PERSON. - we also want to reiterate there was another girl who gave us our food at the end and she had brown hair was taller and more built and was absolutely beautiful and apologetic. We were told our food would be remade and reassured it had started, so we went outside again to wait. Also this girl that was the smaller built and brown hair with the claw clip was extremely rude had no idea what was happening and when she said she would fix it NOTHING WAS DONE. 25 minutes had passed, and we were starting to wonder what was happening. A different staff member walked out with someone else’s food and we let her know what had happened and were waiting for our food to be remade (assuming she would go clarify and check with her other team members if that was happening). 5 more minutes has passed at this point we went inside to find out what was happening, it had nearly been an hour at this point since we first ordered and had been waiting. No staff member had any idea what was going on, and could stop to give us their time to reassure us what was happening or if our food was ready. We were then given some food whilst we waited as a sorry for the inconvenience, the food was cold and soggy and not even edible which was extremely disappointing as well. We ended up waiting over an hour in total. Being that we drove all the way from Brisbane hungry and ready to eat some delicious food, we left extremely disappointed. I do hope moving forward the team at Broadbeach works on their communication skills between their staff and also relaying that to the paying customers too :( Also in saying all of this, we belive that the communication with your staff is the reason why some people have bad experiences with the customer service. We understand that you get very busy and orders get mixed up - however to run a restaurant why is there no clarification between team members and why is no one understanding each other. We kept asking the same questions and concerns to several staff and no one could help us . We spent $90 and more for food that took over an hour due to miscommunication. Really cute looking taqueria on the corner I noticed from my hotel nearby so I thought I might have dinner there, the place looks really cool and I do love a good street taco and reviews were good. Arrived at Costa Taco, first time here. I wasn't sure whether I should wait to be seated or just grab your own table. No staff welcome you or acknowledge you at all on arrival. They don't even look at you they just walk straight past you. I noticed there were QR codes on the tables so I figured you must go seat yourself which I did. I perused the menu for a while. In this time no staff member came near you. You felt invisible. I just found it really bizarre. I ordered a passionfruit margarita and 3 different tacos to try. Immediately you were asked to rate the staff & Costa Taco experience out of 5 stars from the QR code app after placing order. I couldn't because the staff had absolutely no interaction with me whatsoever at this point so I declined to rate. The food and cocktails came out very quickly and a staff member drops the stuff at the table and says what it is and walks off. The margarita was nice, the tacos were like Mad Mex food court standard they were just ok. Nothing like the street tacos from Contrabando in Sydney. I was out of there in 15mins. The place has no soul, there is absolutely no acknowledgement from staff that you are there, like I said I felt invisible there.
