Goldies Bake Shop Southport — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

My partner and I went their in search of a tasty pie, as we are HUGE pie fanatics. We ordered a plain pie with mash and gravy. It was quite obvious that the mash potatoes that was used was not from real potatoes, it was instant mash ( you add boiling water to a powder). It was hard to taste anything else but the instant potato mash, which is quite fowl.

The gravy was also an instant gravy and had lumps of powder which had not mixed well , as you could imagine this was very unsavory. The pie itself, was bland and wasn't anything to rave about, the mince was very watery.

The customer service was minimal to say the least. The price far exceeded the quality, I dont mind paying $8.00 for a pie if the quality can back it up. Our pies were : $5.50 EACH + $0.80 GRAVY + $1.70 FAKE INSTANT MASH (DEB).

To be honest, this is by far the worst tasting pie I have tried in Australia, being born and bread here, apart from those stale service station pies.

I love writing a great review and dont like being the person to leave a negative review , but with the poor quality, excessive price and minimal customer service , I am compelled to leave a poor review.

Do your wallet and your taste buds a favor and save your dollars and try another bakery. Because we all know theres nothing better than a great tasting Aussie...

I've always loved buying my pies here but always felt unwelcomed.

I walked into the store yesterday to buy my usual mince pie. I asked if I could purchase the pie towards the front (as it was more crispy and golden brown then the others).

I had a feeling this shop keeper didn't even listen to my request and sure enough, she picks a pie from the back and when I told her I wanted the one at the front not the back, she then immediately rolls her eyes at me and gives me the worst attitude of annoyance and contempt.

I then turned around and said, " you know what, just forget it", and left the shop in utter and complete disgust. I was there to buy a meat pie not this women's attitude. She then tries to lure me back but I was out of there.

What a shame. The food is great here but the service is poor. I will never go back unless management takes note of this retread women's behaviour and lack of mannerism towards...

I ordered from Goldie’s Bake Shop through Uber Eats — one Pepper Steak Pie with the works (mash, mushy peas, and gravy), one Curry Mince Pie with the works, extra gravy on the side, and a Spinach & Cheese Roll. Everything was incredible — hot, fresh, and full of flavour! My partner and I cut the pies in half and enjoyed each flavour together 🥰 not to mention the portions were MASSIVE , everything was super fresh and honestly I think the best pies on the Goldie for sure.

A huge thank you to Michelle, who went above and beyond for our meal. I called ahead with some special instructions, and she was so kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect.
